Beautifully done, Ken. Love the effect, and the framing makes the perfect finishing touch. Great work.

Thank you my friend. I have always loved Chipmooks. They are very friendly and gentle critters. I have made "friends" with many over the years, with some eating right out of my hand. . .much like some of my bird friends.

These are wonderful captures of the elusive chucker, which few people ever get a chance to see.

I used to hunt these tasty critters in the eastern Oregon canyons, where I learned the secret to hunting chuckers. . .you must have one leg shorter than the other in order to work those steep canyons! :) A good hunting dog is also a must.

My local drinking buddy. Seems that he is particularly fond of left over Bloody-Marys! Someday I'll find that slide. . .

These won't be to most of your tastes and that's ok. I just wanted to take an image that I liked and make some adjustments that might work for other purposes. And have some fun when I need to wind down.

I know you Carly, and I know how you think and how you express your feelings through your art. There is a darkness that you manage to brighten with your own sense of showing us the face of the demon by making it OK.

I know your thinking with these images that you have rendered with perfection. Not all will see and appreciate what it is that your are doing here; and, you cannot come right out and say what is the essence of these images or they will be lost.

Once again I salute you and your "dark side", which you do oh so well.

Its a beautiful image, full of color and emotion, well composed. So happy you were chosen for the gallery, you should be thrilled.

Well, I have to side with my friend Carly on this one! :)

Here goes, hope the contrast and all is fine on this upload.

Maybe a little dose of sharpening will give it some of that old picture look !

For everyone's information, I have been informed that Hope (Heirloom Tomato) passed away earlier today.

She and her family are in my prayers.

Thanks for the complement Mooseeyes. Some times I think there's to many Newport's and Salem's.

Don

Don, I know Newport, OR very well. I used to love the clam chowder at Mo's and the tasty Yaquina Bay oysters! I lived in Lake Oswego for 25 years, and spent lots of time on the Oregon coast.

Back in the days of the America's Cup, Newport was THE PLACE TO BE! It's lost most of it's pizzazz since then. Still a great place to sail though .....deep water port, plenty of slippage, and great wind.

All very nice indeed; however, has nothing to do with these images taken in Newport, Oregon, nowhere near Newport, Rhode Island of America's Cup fame. Nor does Newport, California have any history with the America's Cup.

This is a must download to see the detail of the tiny dew drops. It looks like it's made of the finest spun silk and gold. You have a good eye to see and capture the magic.

I have to agree with Vickie. . .

Vickie,

Love these Canada geese shots. My mind first started thinking "Hewy, Dewy & Louie" of the Canada clan until the last image. . .where did that 4th little critter come from? :)

What different could I do with this picture?

First of all, and unlike the other members who failed to properly respond to your post, let me welcome you to UHH. I would suggest that you go to your profile page and indicate a location (at least the State) instead of "in hiding". Lets the members get an idea of you area, and who knows you might find a close by photographer friend.

Now for the question that you asked and the help that you expressly sought, you posted to the wrong forum. I would suggest that you take a look at the Post Production digital forum, down toward the bottom of the forums list. Unlike some, the people who hang out there are helpful, they not only talk the talk, they can walk the walk. . .unlike some.

You wanted to know what, if anything, you could do with your posted image. Everyone ignored you, and focused on their own misguided humor and snide remarks. I would offer an apology to you, but these people are not worth it. In time you will understand the total lack of ability of some here who run the biggest mouths.

Now for you image. Yes, there are a number of things that you could do. Yes, you have much to learn, but being hit with non-responsive snide comments isn't helping you, and it only shows these people's ignorance.

I have taken your thumbnail image, and worked on it in post production. Below is my rendering of the image that shows suggested tighter crop, and conversion to b&w, and other pleasing enhancements. I now see this as a saved and workable image, of a lovely lady.

Should you wish, or have other questions please feel free to PM me.

Ken
