I would like to photograph the Cave/Falls but I read "STEPS" and a bunch of them. I wonder if there is any other way to get down?

Thank you for your info.

WOW! What a great reply. Your pics are awesome. I think the cost of a guide has gone up a little, my guy is talking $40-$60 for a full day, rate depend on driving/gas used. Thank you!!!

Staying in Seminyak this trip.
Next year probably the northern side of the island!?
Taking a Sony a6500 with a 24mm Zeiss, Sony RX100M2 and maybe a a6000
Been in contact with a local guide.
Will get a "lay" of the island this trip and then come back and spend more time.
This was a "last' minute decision, headed back to Angkor Wat after Bali.

Bali is very special. travel light. I am in Morocco with a Fuji T-100 and with 2 lens and a teleconvertor and small tripod.
Please do not take flash photos during the dances at night.

Thanks, will do.

Hello All. I will be heading to Bali for the first time this December. I am most interested in landscape photography, and on this trip primarily waterfalls. Anyone have any tips or suggestions?

I have the Zeiss 24mm which I am happy with. Other than what is on the now somewhat out dated list, what better choices would you suggest you can share with us that have not already been mentioned?

You might want to also research what you can bring in and out of Egypt if flying back into the USA.. There is a ban on flights departing from that region. I would check if there are restrictions on smartphones, laptops, lithium batteries etc.
None, some and maybe all could be a challenge, please look into before your flight. Egypt is wonderful, enjoy your trip!

It was on AirAsia's website. In fact I put the tripod in the check in thinking I would fine to find out on the return flight it was full and before I boarded I had to check in my carry on, they said pull out your laptop and cameras which I did, fortunately everything appears to be OK. Only 1 1/2 hour flight from Phuket to Siem Reap, small plane and I boarded in Zone 8, by the time I was boarding all of the overheads were taken.

Check the airlines carry on requirements, it is not just about size but also weight. I recently flew from Thailand to Cambodia and the weight limit for carry on was 15lbs. With some of the better luggage today, they can weigh half that much empty. As mentioned already, I checked it in, put TSA approved locks on the case and all was fine for Angkor Wat.
Unfortunately because of the weight limitation I was unable to bring all of the gear I would have liked to.

Aloha!
This weekend it will hit over 100 degrees, so if you are planning taking pics around the PHX area, start early, lots of sunscreen and water and remember the "Sunny Rule 16"!
IMHO the best AZ has to offer that is not too far is Sedona and the Grand Canyon.
If possible, I would book a night in Flagstaff ( cheaper than Sedona or GC ) drive to the GC and photograph the south rim and then head down scenic 89 ( great pics along the way ) to Sedona for more great shots, lunch at the historic Coffee Pot, ending up the day with maybe a sunset from the airport mesa or heading back on 179 shots of Bell Rock then back to PHX area. I am sure there are many past posts about Sedona and the GC for you to review.

Travel safe and welcome to AZ!

Hello everyone. I am a slow learner student of Photography and want to know if the "sweet spot" changes when you add a filter to the lens. For example, one of my lenses it is said the SS is at F8, if I add a filter (ND2) does that automatically change my setting a stop or two? Or, should I manually change the Aperture to F6? Appreciate any help or suggestions.
