My 1.4 converter is rather much off from the lens, so much that I had to adjust first the camera at -10 and then a -18 in all values compared to the naked lens. Like this:

(The colors shows the degree of confirmation that the setting is correct.)

Thanks for any advice for someone that has never tried the dock.

No problem, you can set all values to 0.

... I am curious though, how accurate do I have to be with the distances. I would imagine better than a rough estimate but I don't need to hire a surveyor I assume!!!

I have stayed home for a week with a cold, and had time to adjust the two short distances, but 15 m and infinity has (for me) been trial and error.

Problem (with trial and error) is when a 25-50 m shot is out of focus, what do you adjust? 15 m or infinity, or both?
I am sure that doing it properly from the beginning is faster and more accurate. Wish I had done so...

I use a D750.
And yes, the numbers are quite big. Do remember that (for some reason) these Sigma settings is about half of the AF-Fine Tune you can do in the camera. So a -2 in camera setting would be -4 when you compensate in the lens.
I have found 3-4 other photographera that have published the setting in theis lenses, and the total spann of adjutment is about the same.

Someone might wonder if this is a sharp lens, and it is. I have had a Nikon 300/2.8 VR II for a couple of years, and at 500-600mm this is sharper! It does not match the "naked" 300, but my 300 and a 1.7 converter is less sharp than my Sigma. I have sold the 300/2.8, and I never thought I would do that...

... And for you Hogs using the 150-600 for BIF, what custom settings have you used??? I set C1 for BIF, using quicker focus and OS Dynamic mode. I also changed the focus range to 20 feet to infinity (purely guessing here). Does this sound right since I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

I have the same settings, almost. I use C2 just to help me remember (second gear is faster than first :-) )
