A few Song Sparrow shots to brighten everyone's mood. These shots were taken in lowlight as the Song Sparrow seems to prefer dining at dusk.

Yes they are very hard to discern in lowlight conditions. AF has difficulties, too.

This is really a minor expose of a juvenile bald eagle. While shooting the wave action on Whidbey Island, this young eagle graced me with a unique flyover after loosing track of something it spotted in the waters just offshore from my position on the beach at the high water line.
I wanted to share these unique angles and lighting that I was fortunate enough to capture last week.

Note the overall lighter head that shows some detail. The eye is not so red.

#4 is a male Spotted Towhee for comparison. Note the bright red eye, overall dark head-almost black.

But I thought I would post anyway.
I wasn't out birding but fortunately I had my camera with my 100-400 lens mounted when I saw this beauty. Oblivious to the harassment of the crow one branch to his/her left.

Nice shot.

There are a few terns that are now residents. I was out today and I say a few that were flying near the lagoon.

I saw a few last year, but is looks like there are going to be more this year.

More spectacular BIF shots Topcat. Thanks for sharing

It had rained, which is unusual for us, the day before and the temperatures dropped overnight to leave the pond shrouded in fog over the water.

More awesome BIF shots Max. I am impressed these birds are so fast, getting such sharp shots takes
great expertise. Thank for sharing.

The low sun washed out the water without much post. The fact that there was no breeze at all didn't hurt either.

Like this very much.
