Do the double decker bus tour! Grey Line, New York - 777 8th Ave. I lived in the city for years and I thought I'd seen everything in Manhattan. Was I wrong! A 48 hour pass is about $55 US. Get on and off at will so you can explore everywhere for 2 whole days. Well worth it...and the boat tour around the island is great, too.

WOW! I don't think calls or baiting animals is ethical if you want to call yourself a wildlife photographer. I've been photographing wildlife for over a decade and it never dawned on me to draw an animal out of it's natural setting or alter it's natural behavior. IMHO that is not wildlife photography. I would not even know what to call it.

I've had no problems with the 7D2 in the 6 months I've owned it and in fact purchased another 5 weeks ago so I would not have to keep changing lenses. If what you are shooting moves (i.e. wildlife, especially birds) this camera is incredible.

Dang, people, it's rarely warmer than 10 degrees in February. Don't go if you haven't a clue. PLEASE! This is for serious shooters only. I've seen wolves every year I've been there and been pretty close quite a few times. If the wolves aren't there the coyotes and fox seem to get very active. Moose (no antlers) are fairly common and Bison (as previously mentioned) are everywhere. Big Horned Sheep can be found at Hitching Post at ALL times of year. Elk seem to stay closer to Mammoth but I have seen them in Lamar frequently but usually when the snows are not too deep. Wear layers!!
Bring plenty of batteries and if your camera blinks out, put the batteries in pockets close to your body to warm up...they will work again. No one out there knows everything they need to know. It's a process. On the Job Training. It's worth learning because you ARE going to be hooked...BIG TIME.

My first post: February in Yellowstone means wolves. It's their mating season and they can be very active. I truly believe a 600mm with a 1.4 is the minimum you will need. You'll be shooting from the pullouts and you need as much reach as possible. I have the 70 - 200 but rarely use it in winter. Big glass is everything if you shoot animals in Winter. Been there 8 times in February and a couple of times the wolves got no closer than 1 mile...other times you get lucky - I use an 800. Got the wolf (below) using it.
