Alexandria, Indiana--a few shots
Nice event coverage. I love the vintage ambulance.
Rocks submerged at high tide. View is about 3 feet wide.
Thanks! I'll check it out this season.
In case you don't know this, last season Horseneck and several other area beaches were overrun with Portuguese man-o-wars, eliminating swimming entirely. At closed South Beach on the Vineyard, lifeguards were raking them out of the water by the hundreds. They've gone elsewhere this year, but just a few days ago the water at Horseneck was closed due to a shark sighting. What else can go wrong?
I have been sailing these waters for 30 years and have never seen or heard of a man-o-war or a shark off the south coast. (The east coast of the Cape is Disneyworld for sharks, due to the plentiful population of seals.)

Thanks! I took a wild guess at the exposure time, and 1/15 worked perfectly.
Every time I look at it, I see the head of a poodle on the upper right.

Gooseberryneck Island- look out tower...WW2
Beautiful pic of you guys. There are a number of these towers along the coast. This looks similar to one on a hill just north of Logan Airport. Couldn't find a photo of it.
Best,

Not sure about that but did you ever check out the old army look out on Goose Berry island?I'll hunt for pix in a min.
Hi Judy,
Looked the satellite view. Looks idyllic. Shows what look like roads. Can you drive to the southern point, or are those hike/bike trails?

Nice set! Ot brings back memories - when I was in college in Boston, in the fall we would go down (usually on a double date sort of thing) and sneak in and camp out overnight in the sand dunes. Sometimes the police would come by and wave their flashlights around for a minute, but they would never actually come look for us. A small fire, a bottle of wine, the sound of the waves and the stars on a chilly night with a sleeping bag - and a nice friend - what could possibly be better than that? OK - camping out with the kids is fun too!

Thanks for the kind words about the photos. Always enjoy meeting a fellow Horseneck fan. Was the weird loo0king cast concrete food and drink structure there in your days? They tore it down some years ago.
Best wishes,

Hi Judy. If you mean you sent me a PM, I don't see it. Or maybe I misunderstood your message here.
Best,
