You can decide to spend time with your camera or your computer. I made my choice. Quix out.

I concur. How do you want to spend your time. Shooting images, or editing them on the computer.

Have not shot RAW for quite some time now (measured in years). No real advantage.

I am relatively new to hobby photography. I have a Nikon D7200. I am interested in landscape, wildlife, etc. photography. I want a good tripod. I am on a “retiree” budget. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Two very often overlooked items on tripods which seriously affect cost.

1. Long center posts. The longer the rise of the center post the wobblier the steadiness of the tripod. So using the full length of the center post to reach eye level compromises the value of the tripod.

2. Leg sections and locks. MAXIMUM 4 sections on segments. 5 segment legs contribute to a less sturdy tripod. In addition good locking on the locks at each segment end are better for non wobbly..

Unfortunately both of these potential weak points of a tripod are a significant cost factor.

Piece of Shit tripods often have too long a center post which does not lock tightly, or they have 5 segments per leg. Although less costly they will not do the job for which you spent the money.

Other factors have been mentioned, but these two are often overlooked. Just spend the money once!!

Not liking Sedona at all.
Guess you can go to McDonald's and see the green arches which are the only ones I know of.
The rest is tourist trap same old same old that everyone sees and has thousands of the same photos.
I love Oak Creek Canyon but the best parts require one to walk.
1. West Fork
2. The trail from Call of the Canyon to Mayhews (Where West Fork begins)
3. Trail south of West Fork along the east side of Oak Creek to an old pioneer home and farm and beautiful pond and graves.
4. Trail across from Cave Springs campground into a most wonderful side canyon.
5. The top of the switch backs over look.
6. There are hundreds of other incredible places including caves etc. but an experienced guide would be required to locate them for you.
In the Area there are the following superb places to visit:
1. Copper Museum in Clarkdale.
2. Tuzigoot national monument (Indian ruins).
3. Sycamore Canyon, some incredible views, cliffs and just wondrous views.
4. Verde Canyon Rail Road, if running during this national issue.
5. Page Springs Hatchery.
Here are some shots taken off the beaten path.
A. Passage through a cave to get from one place to another.
B. View of the "Twin Towers"
C.
Not liking Sedona at all. br Guess you can go to M... (show quote)

There is only one place worldwide that you can get a UNIQUE photo. Nowhere else in the world has NON golden arches at McDonalds other than Sedona. When McDonalds applied to build in Sedona, the city politicians said the Golden Arches were too gauche for their site requirements. Hence the building are a reddish sandstone and the Arches are turquoise.

This is the only truly unique image you can come home with from the Red Rock countrly. I have enjoyed many trips to Flagstaff, Oak Creek Canyon, Sedona, Jerome (built on stilts), Prescott, Camp Verde and other communities.

One day to see GC and Sedona.... Total Effing waste of time. Find two weeks in your schedule and hunker down near Sedona, and many others. Just going for one day......at least get a picture of the Turquoise Arches or leave your camera home.

A Frakking steal at that price for that combo. The 18-55 always sells at $250=300 on all sites, eBay and other. I just paid $700 for the body. Man, if I had another $825, I'd drop it on you RIGHT NOW!

I will have the money at the last day of this month and will check back with you then.

I also have a Plustek, an OpticFilm 8200i Ai, which I am very happy with. Years ago I had a Nikon film scanner I liked better, but they no longer make it. The Nikon did 35mm and medium format, but the Plustek only does 35mm.

There is a seller/buyer on eBay who buys, reconditions and rebuilds the Nikon scanners and sells them. His eBay ID is nikon_coolscan. He also knows the hacks that make the nikon software run on current windows, but it's a hack, and he recommends VueScan. I used it and it works well.

Who did Olympus sell out to? Minolta sold their camera and lens division to Sony, did that work out for Sony?

Actually, Minolta sold out to Konica to become Konica Minolta. Both good strong products. Then Sony purchased Konica Minolta. For some time, the Konica Minolta lenses worked on the Sony Camera platform. Hard to transition that to how that relates to what is happening with Olympus.

I have been a strong supporter of Olympus since using their 6X6 folders and then the rangefinder and SLR lines. I was a user of all the Oly OM bodies, and took up their digital offering when Olympus, Panasonic and Leica all formed the 4/3 consortium. Although Leica did not follow through with the 4/3 sensor, they formed a strong Alliance with Panasonic on lens provision.

It's hard for me to envision a world without Olympus. They started the Mirrorless concept at least a decade before other players came into the market. They have the broadest range of lenses of ALL the mirrorless market and the lightest, fastest AF and incredible in body IS.

There is a huge used inventory out there to choose from. Nobody knows at this point what the Investment company who is buying Olympus camera division. But on their tail is Panasonic, virtually a twin platform but with more emphasis on video.

I certainly would not shy from Olympus based only on what is conjecture at the point. But, I can't see them NOT producing camera's and continuing a record of aggressive evolution, as they have for decades.

Full service Michael's Art Stores have incredible Printing, Sizing and full frame services. Matting, custom matting and a huge range of custom frame are available.

There is a Michael's about ten miles from me and the two ladies who assist with design and choices are absolutely wonderful. Anything I do for sale is put together by them, after I do my relatively small amount of post processing.

Saturday I went to the local Costco store for some film development which was based on good reviews found here on the hog. They have closed their photo shop four years ago. That's how often I go to Costco. I fell out of favor with them when they stopped taking American Express cards. Personally, I still don't know how good their quality is.

Many Costco stores shut down printing as their machines began to need excessive service. I think those stores can still take send in orders..???

Nope it's a 1953...1954 had chrome eyebrows over the top of the headlight bezels and the tail light bezels.

All sheet metal for the 1953 and 1954 was identical. Our family had a tan/brown 1954 for 4 or 5 years. This is a 1953
