Paintshop Pro X7 Ultimate is equal to Lightroom and Photoshop and costs about half! There is nothing that either of the Adobe Products can do that Paintshop Pro cannot do! Check out that!

I'm 72 YO and have been using manual cameras for about 50 years. I've had SLR's, range finder, twin lens and most all the old box cameras. I'm looking for a DSLR that can be used just like an old film SLR. I prefer to set my f/stop and shutter speed myself. I'm not tied to any make (brand) so I can rule that part out. Any suggestions?

There are a LOT of sharp lenses on the market and you should get lots of specific suggestions based on what those persons happen to like themselves.
Go to this website to check their actual sharpness rating against each other and decide for yourself what you wish to spend your hard-earned dollars on. Go to "Lenses" and then "Compare Lenses". Be sure to enter your camera body in the appropriate place to see how these lenses actually work on YOUR body.

I can recommend B&H and Adorama. Both have great service and inventory as well as good web sites and are price competitive.

I can also recommend either of them. In the past I have done a lot of business with both of them and was very satisfied with their performance.

If your D70 is in good working order get it converted for infrared.

I guess my question would be, Why do you want to upgrade? If you go back to the period that the D70 came on the scene, you will find thousands of outstanding photos taken wilt the D70 around the world?
