I am sorry if I overstep my question. But, why doesn't anybody say anything about the Tamrac Expedition 8 backpack for carrying all this guys stuff. Yeah I paid up for it but it's great on the shoulders, got a waist band for stability, hold a lot of gear, and has great protection thickness for equipment? Lowepro is good but so are others.
I l also know I'm opening myself up for attack, so I apologize if I offend anyone. I'm still an amateur and do learn every day from this group ! Thank you to everyone.

Sounds like you're traveling. I use a Tamrac Expedition 8X backpack. You're probably going to buy more stuff and you'll need more room.
I've always outgeared my camera bags, and have found this to be a great travel backpack. I use smaller camera bags when taking pictures locally.
Good luck with your decision and happy shooting.

This was traditionally considered the "normal lens" for 35mm film cameras. With a film or full frame digital camera it gives a field of view most similar to what you see with your eyes. Still a good everyday lens.

As to it being a good lens for portraits, it depends on what camera you are using it on. On a full frame digital or film camera, it will require you to get close to your subject and will result in some unflattering foreground elongation. However, on a crop sensor camera the 50mm will be the equivalent of a 75mm and would work very well for portraits.

I use this lens on a D7200 and as it has been mentioned prior, you can use it for anything. I've used for portraits, landscape and even night photography. All I had the day this sunset was taken was the 50mm. It's a great part of my arsenal of lenses.

The Nikon 60mm Micro is a very nice lens. I have a D5600 and the auto focus does not function but that's no big deal. The 60mm is not a large lens. It's very sharp. You can pick these up used in like new condition from $170 - $180 just about any time you want on ebay. It is a little short being 60mm and you have to get quite close to you subject to shoot macro. So no close ups of rattlesnakes and such. Other than that its an absolutely wonderful lens and should be fantastic on a full frame camera.

All these Have Been Taken With a D7200 Micro Lens and I Love It, Yeah You Got To Get Close But So What, That's half The Fun !

I am using a Nikon D7000 with a Sigms 150-600 lens
Trying to take pictures of birds in flight,

What setting do you recommend

Manual, Apature Priorty, Sutter Priotry

ISO

Apature setting

Sutter speed setting

Hello I shoot a Nikon D7200, 1/3 crop mode to get me really close photos. ISO 1600 max. I use a Sigma 150/600 sport lens which equates to approximately 1200mm. I start at 1250/sec F8 and adjust from there. Single point focus, continuous, and back button focus, and camera set to only shoot on focus. Frames set to high continuous with 100 maximum. Practice on panning( following the bird) and keeping your focus point dead on your target ( not easy). The old saying spray and pray may hold true for a while till you have to process hundreds of worthless shots. Patience and Practice will win the day ! Take Your Time and Shoot when subject is best !
Best of luck, and you'll have tons of fun !!

Personally I would opp for a lower ISO. 100 or 200 with the camera on a sturdy tripod is fine. Since the moon is a direct reflection of the sun you can basically calculate ISO 100, 1/500, at f8. That's a good starting point. Atmospheric conditions may change that. Bracket 1/2 stops up -1 to +2. With digital shoot away and review the results and make any necessary changes. f8 is normally considered the sweet spot. You'll be focused at infinity so unless you include a foreground object DOF is not a problem.

Thank you sir for the recommendation, I shall try a lower ISO to see the outcome, appreciate the thought !!
Also because I shoot so fast, my shooting is done handheld. Will try the tri-pod as well, usually only use them for time-lapse.

Tried to get shot of full moon with t5, Av mode 18f, 200 iso, shade wb, gave me 30 sec exposure but the brightness just gave a glow and not the sharpness of the moon landscape, canon efs 50-250 lens, Tree on left side in foreground, shows underexposure in histogram,"blinky" on moon. tried various exp comp settings. moon had nice glow but would like to get rid of glow "blob" effect and get the sharpness instead. Thank you for helping this novice.

When I shoot pictures of the Moon, I set my ISO between 1600 and 3200. My Aperture to F8 or 9 (sweet spot) and sometimes higher, and my shutter to 2000/sec, 2500/sec or more.
The faster the shutter the less light enters the camera. I use a Nikon D7200 with a Sigma 150/600. This is the result. I wish you many good evenings of shooting this great heavenly body !
