All I get here now are ads from Temu - mostly for womens' underwear. I don't know why anyone would need the item below, but I would avoid any activity that required it.

Reminds me of an issue I had. Went to store that says it fixed all electronics. It was a GPS/walkie talkie. I forgot to remove batteries and terminals were corroded. He told me he could not fix it because he could not get the parts. They do not fix anything, anymore they just exchange parts.

I miss GOOD fruitcake and that is complicated by my wife's need to be gluten-free.
We were looking at her grandmother's hand-written recipes from the depression era and found one for "inexepensive fruitcake." Basically raisins, prunes and dates with no glazed, colored fruit.

I adapted it with 2 cups of white rice flour, 2 cups of buckwheat flour, 1 cup of almond flour, blackstrap molasses, pinch of apple pie seasoning a a fair amount of domestic brandy + sufficient water to mix. Made two solid loaves.

Came out great!

I have an Earnst Dieter Hilker circa 1950's. It has a door with a piano hinge on the side. The screws came loose and the holes are kind of enlarged so I can't tighten the screws tight. I wonder what I should do? I do not want to use larger screws nor replace the hinge. Perhaps put super glue in the holes then tighten the screws?

Take some glue a Tooth pick or a smaller dowel and glue them in the hole wait until dried and with the toothpicks you can just screw it right in or with the dowel you might have to redrill the hole. The tooth pick is easier.

Funny how life is. I once wanted to live back East for photos then I realized what I would be shooting would be mostly birds. I really don't mind. But I live in Utah and see how many want to visit my State for photos I had to reassess my views. Five National Parks and oodles of other places. I guess the grass is always appears greener on the other side of the fence.

We watch on-air and cable...no streaming. It has gotten so bad that I did an experiment and kept track. While there are a few exceptions and variations, the norm is 7 or 8 minute program blocks (sometimes 6 minutes) interrupted by 3-4 minute commercial blocks. A recorded 60 minute program can easily be watched in 35-40 minutes.

On anything but football we DVR the program and quickly scan through the ADS. iT BECOME TIRESOME TO WATCH THE SAME ADS, AD NAUSEUM. Pun intended.

You might look at the mattress. Had this problem also and the mattress I was using was crippling me. Shopped long and hard for a mattress but life is so much better.

A few years ago when I was shopping for a new auto I checked this one out. Seems they ALL want to cater to sirius. But I tried to buy a DVD player. Found a unit that was around $200 but found there were lots of units that were not compatible with Honda's system. But it can be done.

I don't want an answer, but I know some of you will post a number. I'm guessing that all of you have hundreds, if not thousands, of CDs/DVDs. If you buy a new car or a new computer, you will probably have no way to play those CDs. Sure, we can download what we want - if we can find it. Then, we have to organize it on the computer, keep it backed up, and decide what to transfer some of the songs to another device for playing in the house or car. In other words, it's a nuisance.

I still have Cd and DVD players, so I can take a disk off the shelf and play it. There are still lots of Cd players available on Amazon, but they're generally small, "Boombox" types. Amazon still has lots of DVD players available, too, and they're generally under $50. I wonder if I should buy one as insurance against future unavailability. You can also buy a VHS player, but they're close to $300. For almost $400, you can buy an 8mm projector that also records to digital. If I had a lot of undigitized 8mm film, I might be tempted.

FYI - Vinyl record sales outperformed CDs in the US for the first time since 1987, according to a new report. Just over 41 million vinyl records were sold in 2022, to the tune of $1.2bn (£. 99bn). Only 33 million CDs were sold, amounting to $483m.

The company that patented Ivermectin had come out saying that it is not meant for Covid. That outa be enough.

Covid was not a thing when the drug was released. Many drugs have multiple uses. And many of those uses are discovered after they drug is released. You have to understand the lingo. What they meant to say was we have not done the research so we are not sure of whether it will work on Covid or not. This protects them on the backside from lawsuits.

Ivermectin was approved for human use in 1987.
The doctors who discovered Ivermectin won a Nobel Prize in 2015 for its successful use in humans to treat several devastating tropical diseases, including river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis and lymphatic filariasis, as well as to treat less severe conditions such as head lice and scabies.
Ivermectin is also used in veterinary medicine to treat parasitic diseases.

A though just occurred to me. Escargot can be edible or toxic depending on what they eat. They have to be detoxed in order for us to eat them. What about these birds? The escrogot do not go through a clarification process.
