My apology to Mr. Mooseeeye for jumping the gun and really understanding his whole thoughtful explanation. Sorry. Have a good day.

Hi mthphoto
Nicely taken shot. I detect some tension in your posting in response to mooseeye’s posting. If you click ‘quote reply’ button of that person’s post, we can tell for sure that you are replying to a particular posting. I think you have misunderstood mooseeeye. Not knowing what you have done to the picture (you didn’t mention any), mooseeye was trying to tell you in a ‘creative’ way that there is too much red in particular areas of your model. Others have assumed you increased the saturation and said so. Mooseeye considered other possibilities, such as a balance shift.
Turning down the saturation does make it a more beautiful picture, as shown by MyPharo’s attempt. The row of red flowers is not so dominant now and the viewer’s attention is now concentrated on the girl. If her skin tones are warmer looking than that, then just increase the vibrance a bit more. I would then turn it into B & W and I think it would look just as nice. You may need to soften the harshness with decrease contrast, increase brightness, etc. Just play around with settings to get a softer overall effect which is more suitable to a girl image, IMO. Even a soft focus effect may be nice, although out of fashion these days. The row of now whitish flowers may need burning in to reduce its impact and distraction.
Have a go and post again.

Based on the 2 photos shown the B/W is the better .. If you take some time and Fix the Color photo, it would Be the color winner.

I took 5 min and made minor adjustments to the color saturation of this photo. I am assuming you did some enhancing of the photo. Over blown reds dominated the photo I think I made it more balanced .. Hope you like.

thank thank you mr. Mypharo, the color image does look balanced now. Good job I like it. Thanks

All due respect, this family has been my neighbor for almost a year now, her mom asked me to take few good shots of her and that's what I did, I took about 20+ shots and she choose this one which I am going to make it into 11x14, frame it and hand it to her, in return if she gives me a piece of bread I will accept it with thanks. That's all. I am not her care taker nor its my business to get into the nitty-gritty of things with their family issues or problems. Over the years I have learnt that at time its best to stay out of other people's business and keep my trap shut and just do the darn job. I am not a pro, just shooting with a D3100 & D7000. So if you feel so concern about others wellbeing, then I can give you a list of people and you may start cutting checks for them. Good day

The color seems a little over saturated and the monochrome is very dark. Given the choices, I would go for the monochrome.

you are correct. Thanks

Just stumbled upon a garage sale and picked this treasure chest for a few bucks. It darn took me an hour to find the right key out of hundreds to open the lock which was lying inside. I just thought I'll share my frustration with you all.

Hello,
I recently purchased a Nikon D7000, just wanted to know, do I need to do any updates on the software in my camera? And where can I find the updates. Thanks

Any help on this subject will be appreciated. Good day
