Hi there,

While I was eating breakfast reading copy of "Photo Life", I got to thinking of all the cameras I've had over the last 60 years of my life.
1. Kodak Instamatic age 8.
2. Polaroid (not sure which one) age 10
3. Miranda Sensorex II age 15
4. Pentax MX age 20
5. Mamiya 645 age 23
6. Yashicamat age 26
7. Canon T3i age 54 (life, work and family became more of a responsibility from age 26-54)
8. Nikon F2 age 57
9. Nikkormat ftn age 57
10. Sony NEX 7 age 58
11. D300 age 60

Now I'm looking at trading one of my D300 to acquire a D700 to improve my wedding business. I would like to have the new Fugifilm medium format but will probably settle for the x100s. I tend to buy used as the prices are much lower than new and most photographers have GAS. Ido as well but only have so much money to relieve it.

Anyway, I would like to hear others thoughts.

Hi there.
I'm looking for advice on how to acquire clients to begin another stream of income to my photo business. I already do weddings and special events. I have some experience in architectural photography but no real estate clients. Any constructive advice is always helpful.

Hi there. Welcome to UHH, the place were there are many opinions. Myself, i use Nikon as it suits my goals. For someone starting out and wish to take family events and some sports I would start with a Sony A6300 or A6500 with the kit lens and additional longer kit zoom. It is small for easy carry, lenses are sharp, and also offers good video options. Once you get your feet wet, then you can decide on if you want to go further with the hobby or not. Also look at the Fugufilm x70 with the same lenses. Just some options.

I believe that Nikon has a nifty fifty like Canon does. You can not go wrong with that lens if it as good as Canon is.

The D type lenses from Nikon will not work on D3300 as the camera does not have focus motor in the body which the lens needs to focus.

So what. You're the photographer and should know what to do. What do you want us to do?

Not sure why you are so upset? Are you one of these photographers who only want to pass on what they think is relevant and not give a proper answer to the question that has been posed.

Very good reply Apaflo. I just wondered what the resolving power and noise calculations would be for a nikond300 vs a T3i. I am currently looking into changing systems from canon to Nikon. I currently only have on lens for canon, (Sigma 17-70, f2.8), but also use Nikkor manual lenses (24f2.8, 35 f2.8, 50 f1.4, 105 f2.5, and a 200 and 300 both f4). I want to purchase a d300 and a d600 as I am now getting more requests for weddings and corporate headshots. Please let me know what you think would be best for me. Trying to keep costs don at the moment. Will be buying a Nikkor 28-70 f2.8 D and also a Nikkor 80-200 f2.8 D lens as well.

D600 and a Nikkor 28-70 f2.8 d lens. Or maybe the older 35-70 f2.8 d. Both excellent lenses for less money for the ones that you have mentioned. I would stay away from the 24-120 as there is a lot of CR and softness at the corners until stopped down to 5.6 or 8.

I have come across this lens for sale at around 800-1000. There is very little on YouTube as far as a review. Any comments, good or bad. I will be using this on a Nikon d600. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, haven't posted for a while. I am looking to look for a full frame camera and see quite a few for between $500 and $600 Cdn. Just wondered what your thoughts are on it. He will not be doing much indoor shots and no high speed such as sports. Any comments? Thanks in advance. Ps. Also found a 24-105 f4 L lens for $650 Cdn.

I feel that those still wish to force the "The Lord's Prayer", (even though there are many different Gods as seen by the many religions), should just get with the times. We no longer have slavery, segregation, witch hunts, residential schools, etc. Women are allowed to vote, hold political office, all religions are allowed to practice.
