I just got the newer "Macro" lens from B&H at the $349.00. I've had it about 3 weeks and I like the range of it for all-around purpose. It is certainly not an "L" class lens but for what it is and the price, I like it very much.

You would need to format the card for each camera. Once the card is formatted for the Canon it won't be able to be seen by the Nikon.

Sorry, I have been misinformed, didn't mean to confuse the issue.

I do not know if it still exists but there is Lion Country Safari. There is Sea World, San Diego Zoo and the beach.
With the exception of the zoo Google the other two to see
if they are still open. There are many photo ops all over
southern California, have fun.

There is no Lion Country Safari in the San Diego area. However there is Safari Park, which was called Wild Animal Park. It is not in San Diego proper. It is located outside of Escondido, CA which is about 30 miles north of San Diego.

I was going out to photo the moon last night. Set my tripod in hall way while I go jacket. Leg clamp on cheapo tripod slipped and all fell. My 70-200 F4 L broke off the camera. Shipped it off to Canon "not exactly in tact". Camera seems ok.

ANOTHER lesson learned...ugghh

Sorry Regis, hope the damage isn't to bad

One other thing you might want to consider is the type of lens you now have. If you upgrade to a 6D (full frame) only the Canon EF lenses will work with it. Your T4i is an APC-S sensor and uses EF-S lenses, which will not fit the 6D, so you would need to upgrade your lenses as well.

I send images via EMAIL out of lightroom as well, however, I leave the address blank, hit SEND and it pops me into Apple Mail, picture embedded within the message, waiting for me to address the mail. Since I am in Apple Mail, all my addresses are all available with no need to maintain an additional address book.

Before you go off on a tantrum, you should know that I spent 18 months in Vietnam and lost some really close friends. It's jerks like you--that's right, I think you're a jerk--that need new hobbies, because making asinine comments about my loyalty to the troops sure makes you look like a loose cannon. "Dead soldiers" are empties, parts that are NFG; learn to live with the vernacular.

And, by the way, the discussion was focused on a compact flash card, not on a political issue.

I started out with a Canon T3 and progressed to a Canon 60D than had an opportunity to get a used Canon 7D, soooo my wife was interested, so I let her use the 60D and she is very good. However, now she has decided that the 60D is heavy, I have several lenses some that are fairly heavy, so she bought herself a Panasonic FZ200 bridge camera that she is learning to use, and she takes excellent photos.

I guess the moral of the story is, give her the opportunity to choose for herself, you might be surprised what she can do.

I gave the OP a very basic example of how lens construction affects angle of view. I did neglect to add that there are a number of variables. In general, a wider diameter lens will be capable of producing a wider angle of view for a given focal length. Sensor size has absolutely nothing to do with lens characteristics, only the camera's characteristics. It IS all about lens construction and there is nothing "iffy" about that.

That's why I'm interested. I have Internet Cloud storage available up to about 60GB on 3 different services. I don't use them because I am not organized enough to recall what I would have where and I have too many photos to store. Carbonite is not my choice. I use 4 external hard drives (10GB) which I carry back and forth on my trips. I trip often and I almost always have good Internet connections. I would like to have my own cloud.

David I Googled "Western Digital my cloud" and found a link that is very informative with pricing up to 6TB.

I would think that the easiest thing to do is put them in iPhoto which is already yours. The new Apple photo viewer that will come in the next system will have even more features. Or if you don't want to bother putting the photos into iPhoto, just open Preview (also on your mac), select Open from menu, and navigate to the folder where your photos are.

Thanks for the tip about Preview, never used it like that before.
