Great pictures, wish I would have visited it when I lived up there.

Down here in Florida the Amish live in Pinecraft which is a section in
Sarasota. There is a restaurant there that looks like the Essenhaus in
Middlebury. The same couple that owns the restaurant in Indiana own
this one as well.

Have not gone into their shops to look at furniture but I have seen some
great looking quilts at the restaurant down here.

In high school, I had a Studebaker Starlight Coupe... It was laughed at by my buddies who had Ford and Chevy cars that were so old-fashioned.

When learning how to drive I drove a Studebaker Lark. My Dad worked at Studebakers and that was all we had until they closed the company down in South Bend.

If you ever get a chance eat breakfast at the Studebaker Tippecanoe Mansion (restaurant). There is some interesting woodwork in that building. You can walk through a number of the rooms. Plus, the brunch is darn good too.

Thank you - but maybe lake versus ocean sand? Hard to figure...

That could be true about the sand. Down here depending on the tide the beach can have shells scattered all over. Plus, let's not forget the occasional shark's tooth. Have to remember when you jump in the water down here, you are not the highest on the food chain anymore. LOL

Great pictures and I remember seeing those when I walked around the beach at Michigan City. Have tried that down here in Florida and have yet to get any pictures of beach sand that match yours. Great job.............

I was there several years ago. Lot of cool cars but your criticism is spot on.

Not surprising to me though. When you look at the rest of the town, it’s quite obvious that what was once a vibrant and productive industrial city is now a mostly cleaned up shell of its former self. I suspect that before the big clean up, it looked like the war torn cities we see on the news.

Yes South Bend is not what it used to be. In the past Singer sewing machine cabinets were built there. Johnson Outboard had a plant in town and were tested on the Saint Joseph River. Bendix was huge, Oliver, and the list goes on.

Why is this on the UHH? It is just every day WWW political smoke. Readable anywhere. Most of us want the UHH a reprieve from the ugly and negative. Should have been posted in the Attic Section.

Could not agree with you more.

Fantastic picture. Reminds me of my Uncle's barn up in St. Joe County.

Great set of pictures, thanks for sharing. Enjoy the natural poses and not a lot of
accessories to distract from the model.
