Photographing a newborn baby's hair is extremely difficult. The color can literally change in a matter of hours. If that hair is truly red, it probably a deep red and will require careful and progressive adjustment of color balance to get it right. One of my granddaughters was born with bright red (Maureen O'Hara) hair. One week later it was almost black. At one month, it was a rich auburn with red highlights. At 5½, her hair color is light brown, but you can still see red highlights AT HIGHER ALTITUDES where the air is cleaner. It sounds crazy, but altitude (and/or clean air) does affect colors, a reason I bought my Gossen Sixticolor Color Temperature Meter. It really shows up on 4 X 5!

Geezzzz. I don't think the mother will like the red hair. In some of the photos, it almost looked brassy gold. Can you explain how I can adjust the color balance just on the hair? Thank you.
