I like subtle HDR, bold HDR, garish HDR.....sometimes. I like subdued color, saturated color, vivid color.......sometimes. I like sepia, b&w, vintage, cross processed, etc. etc.........sometimes.

The final image is what matters to me, if it moves me it moves me. I do not find it necessary to analyze how that image became what it is. All processed camera images can be construed as "fake," as none of them appear like what your brain interprets though your eyes. In fact, our amazing eyes see in HDR.

It's the final product for me, the processing or lack of it matters little if I like it. Just my simple opinion on the ever continuing HDR vs Non HDR debate.

OK. Let me go agains the common wisdom. AVOID WHITE!!!

White walls are the curse of every home studio.

Here is the problem in a VERY small room. Whether products or people, what defines the subject is the transitions from highlights to shadows and if you go white, getting shadows will be a bitch. You will have what we call "unwanted fill." You will go crazy trying to get dimension in your subject if you cannot control the light. A medium to darker gray will not add color and will not reflect anywhere near as much light. Actually, black is ideal, but hard to cover and kinda depressing. Why do you think the inside of our lenses is black? To kill reflections.

You could paint it any color and have sliding drapes along the sides, but that will take up 3 inches you cannot spare.

For people, 10x10 is very restrictive unless you can shoot from down a hallway. Not impossible, but placing lights will be a very frustrating exercise.
