I just put it in PS and tried putting it green but I thought it looked edited,(cheesy, from Wisconsin) I'm not very good with PS but have been working on it. I can't seem to blend the colors very good.

Think your right, the black is not so bad now after cropping some off. Thanks a lot.

So the black is distracting?

I set up a ground blind near a bluebird house in hopes of getting a few shots when this robin showed up and started scooping up the mealworms I put out.
The photo was shot with aperture priority at 1/400, ISO 250, and a setting of 230mm from a Nikon 70-300mm lens. Used a Matrix metering mode. The bird was probably within 15 feet of my blind. The only thing I don't like is the black hole behind the bird, but there was no different angle I could set the blind up at. Would you go in and edit this or leave as is?

Thanks Rich,
So far everyone has been very nice in pointing me in the right direction to find things. Have found it interesting so far, even after only a few days.

I found it harder to take a good photo of a building then a bird, so my hat is off to you. The light never seems right to me for buildings as I can use a filter over a flower or add a little light if not enough.

I grew up in a small town of Athens, straight west of Wausau before moving to Minnesota, now live in Mt Horeb, west of Madison. Lots of rolling hills.

Thanks for the welcome, I see your engine on a number of topics so you are well involved. The latest I read was about the hand grip, seems I looked at B&H and the price and style change a lot from tripod hole to attaching to neck strap. Didn't notice if you can leave strap on camera and still attach tripod or if you have to remove first.
Anyways thanks a lot.

I was looking at B&H and they have a good number of different kinds of hand grips, maybe this will help.

I live only 50 miles from the Dells and have not gotten there yet. We do have a lot of cows and cheese.

Thanks, I had a pond at my house in Minnesota and would set up a ground blind and would get up to 900-1000 photos a week of wood ducks. Found that once I wore black in blind and covered my face in black as well, the ducks would come in MUCH closer and where calm. Was a lot of fun. Was very surprise at the warm welcome from people after I signed up today. :-)

Thanks for the welcome, hope I learn from the site, and I took my D7000 manual to Office max and had cover and back laminated and had note paper added to back so I can keep my notes with manual and then had a spiral holes put in it. I can flip it open to any page and it lays flat on table. Best thing I ever did to my manuals.

Hello,
From Wisconsin, love taking photos of wild flowers and birds. Moved here from Minnesota where I found it easier to get photos. Been learning the area. Enjoy woodworking on the side, making hope chest, entertainment centers to marble boards, etc. Shoot a Nikon D7000 that I just got, had a D80 before that. Hope to learn something's from this site and enjoy fellowship with some other photographer's.
