Here is a before and after shot from South Haven, Michigan.
Before shot
After Photomatrix
Thank you everyone for your positive comments on the photos. UP-2-IT, thanks for sharing the two links; I'll put them to good use. I'll be spending a great deal of time at Lake Michigan this summer, and hope to capture a lot of nautical photos in HDR.

You've done a great job! Effect with restraint. #1 is particularly lovely. Your profile says new user, but nviaches seems to know you. Neighbors??
Nviaches and I worked together a few years ago before I retired.

Nice pics, hminn! Hey buddy, remember me? You still sailing all over the world sir?
I sure do remember you; how are you doing? I haven't taken any trips, yet, this year. It's almost time to put the boat in the water, and hopefully, we'll get up to the North Channel this summer. We plan to take between 6 and 8 weeks for a real nice summer cruise up there. Are you still with the big "A"? Since retiring, I've been doing contract training for them. In fact I just got home from a two month gig in Miami. Since you are on this site, obviously, you take a few pictures. I didn't realize that we had that in common. Good to hear from you!
You should check out Sass Dive in the Internet. Often you can find Great Lakes ship wreck photos there along with many other outstanding underwater photos from around the world.

I recently purchased my first digital SLR, and having this wonderful new tool, I started scouring the Internet for information on the camera and digital photography. I happened onto Trey Ratcliff's web site,
www.stuckincustoms.com. Prior to this I had never heard of HDR photography. I was totally blown away by his gallery of photos. I studied his HDR tutorial and downloaded Photomatrix. I had to give it a try. Currently, I don't have Lightroom or noise reduction softward, so all photos are as they came out of Photomatrix. These are some of my first HDR photos. The beach scenes and sunrise were shot from a tripod; all others were hand-held. I'm shooting with a Nikon D7000 with the "User1 mode" set up with aperture-priority at F8, bracketing with 2 stops above, normal and 2 stops below. I set my release to continuous high so one push initiates all three exposures. Advice is welcome.

mmmmm....this one looks a little warmer, great panos...both sets!
Thank you. It felt real good to escape the deep freeze.
Lifeguard station near Miami Beach. What a contrast to the Lake Michigan shots; it was about 60 degrees warmer. Both beaches were shot in February.

My immediate thought was that this was a Junco. But, this bird has a black beak, no white breast and no apparent white on the tail. We didn't see it ground feeding either.
Help!!!!!

I believe I've seen her on my feeders. It looks like a female Brown-headed Cowbird.

I took this photo of Dogwood blooms as it was getting dark with heavy overcast skies. It is my first Dogwood shot of the year. It has been cropped and post processed.
I have included two versions of the same photo... a darker version and a lighter version. Which do you prefer?
Very nice shot. I had a difficult time making up my mind, but I like the darker better.
Two shots from Lake Michigan in February - Burrrrrrr.
