This perfect male came to visit this morning and then by this afternoon, I had three fluttering around in my garden... I'm sure all my grand-flutters!!!

This morning a female emerged....
I now have 13 in chrysalis and 1 in J-hook... by the morning will have transformed into a chrysalis.
Many little ones and eggs to follow.... and everyday I'm finding eggs and tiny little cats wanting to come into the house to be safe!!!

This picture was right after she emerged... and this chrysalis gave me heart failure.... I had to move it and the silk did not attach.... it fell, not far, but twice... I had to think quickly in order to hang her.... used the hot glue gun and dental floss to safely hang her up.... thankfully she was perfect!!

Just got the Canon 100-400 lens. Did not do well with flowers, but the little chipmunk turned out ok. The mom and fawn were quite far away, but I had expected better.... as well as the 2nd deer. I also tried really hard to get the moth/butterfly to work, but just could not get it right. I think I like the lens, but not sure yet. It is a fair amount heavier than my 70-300 which I like a lot.

All are very well photographed. Nice work....Rich

I am speaking of the beetle, not the people. They are killing my garden. My Hibiscus seems to be their favorite. I even bought the dust made by Bayer that is made just for ridding one's garden of these pests. They just laugh at thee. All those trapping bags do is to attract more of them. My neighbor can testify to this. Grub control has to be the answer, The problem with that is, everyone needs to do it, not just me. They will just come back next year.

And yes, this problem has made the news several times this year.

Another round of processed shots from Scotland ... I promise there are only a few left ;)

Scotland is home to a number of neolithic sites dating back as far as 5000 years. Two of them are the Ring of Brodgar and the Standing Stones of Stennis. Pretty cool sites similar to their more famous cousin "Stonehenge". Additionally, lighthouses and medieval buildings abound.

I hope you enjoy.

Scotland is a land I have visited many times over the years and on each visit I feel even more that its different form anywhere I have visited, and of my 5 recent visit in the last year these are just three on my favourite views in Scotland.

1- The Quirang, on the northern end of The Isle of Skye.
2- Loch Arroch, from the Mam Ratagan Pass in the Western Highlands.
3- The mighty Glencoe with the Three Sisters standing proudly

Very nice....Rich
