OMG! They inhale peanuts! I spend a fortune when I am up in the mountains. So rewarding, though.

Love these crazy birds and their antics. So many in the mountains of so CA and they will eat out of my hands.

I recently bought the 5D MarkIV but decided to keep my 7D also. Like you, I wanted a full frame and more pixels and I felt like after seven years with my trusty 7D, I was ready. I debated whether to purchase the 5D Mark IV or the Sony mirror less camera. I chose the Canon because I didn’t want an extreme learning curve and I’m so glad I made the choice. While some of my lenses could not be used on the5D I was able to use my 50 mm EF lens And found that my 70-300 mm lens ends up becoming almost 600 mm when I put it on the 7D.

Eventually I might sell my 70 and all of the lenses I have for that camera in order to get more glass for my newer camera, but I enjoy using both. It was so easy using the 5G and I had no trouble whatsoever using it quickly because all of the Dials, settings etc. were pretty much alike.

I took a trip to France and Italy about three years ago and wanted to pack light as far as camera equipment. I shoot with a Canon EOS 7D and I was encouraged to purchase the Tamron 16/300 lens since it basically does everything and one lens sounded great. I have been very happy with it when I travel. It didn't break the bank either. Being able to do macro, too, without my macro specific lens, was a nice feature of this lens.

Great captures of the pigeons! I wish everyone would post some exif info so we could see aperture, speed, etc. that is how I learn from others' photos. Theses are really good shots!

Thanks for your suggestion, Erv. I did not know that and wondered why the snow was always blue! I had my aperture at 9.0 so maybe 3.5 would be better???? I will try it out the next time I get to see some snow.

Thanks Wendy! We go to Big Bear Lake, CA about two hours from where we live in San Diego. The dogs love the snow because they rarely get to see it!
