Provides Full-time Continuous Phase Detect AF to E-mount cameras
AF motor allows A-mount lenses, Sony or Minolta, to be used with E-mount camera bodies. High speed and accurate AF are available for both still image and video. Aperture drive mechanism enables AE with compatible A-mount lenses.

To me not that important I have a photo of my classic car and it prints out at 8X10 just fine. it was shot with Nikon 990 at 3.2 Megapixels, If I wanted to blow it up any bigger I might have issues. I now have a 18 and 24 megapixel cameras and they make nice pics but at 8x10 I don't see a lot of difference.
