Bush lowered taxes on the rich because they are his buddies - he cared less about creating jobs and if you think the rich create jobs I suggest you seek counseling

Sorry, I should have said Congress lowered the taxes and the reason they gave (and the reason the GOP still gives) is that by lowering taxes, more jobs will be created. I never believed it then, and don't believe it now. The rich will always get richer with our Congress - no matter who is president.

I feel no obligation for the collective good when it requires me to be a slave. Don't assume I supported Bush. I never supported either of them as they are both hyper statists - no different than the usurper/destroyer we have in office now.

You should be watching the PBS series about the Abolitionists. And then you wouldn't feel that way. I don't see anyone requiring you to be a slave. You are receiving much from the common good right now; and you should feel good about that.

It matters not who you support; but giving up on the common good of society is bailing out and becoming a failure.

You guys are just not making enough money! If you were making millions like the 3% you would not care who was in office, because your lobbyists would keep your deductions and profits high. But you are in the Middle Classes like me, getting a salary and having taxes deducted with few exemptions. Bush lowered taxes on the rich to make jobs, but we already had jobs. The Fiscal Cliff solution did nothing to raise or lower taxes. Expenditures keep going up.

You guys can bail out - won't make a difference at all. You'll sink to a lower class. Soon, we will all realize we are in a class war that even a democracy cannot avoid. Bailing out just adds to the problem.

The problem is who would teach a "religions" class to your kids? Would you want a Buddhist or a Muslim to teach your child about Christianity?

You are absolutely correct, more people have killed in God's name than for any other reason.

That's why the framers kept it out of domain of the law.

You ask the perfect question! The International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum in high schools now offer courses in philosophy, and theories of knowledge. They are assigned readings from the Christian, Jewish, Islam and Hindu teachings for thoughts and discussions. Who should teach these classes? Instructors who know the subject matter, with course directors who review the course content.

Religion can be taught like economics, history, math, etc. Would I care if it was taught by a Muslim? No, because my family was brought up in a Christian home and we could discuss more about the class around the table. We should not fear other religions and faiths just because they we do not agree with them.

The students from the IB programs have learn more about religious tolerance than most of us have learned about it...but that is my own opinion here.

Both parties have millionaires and billionaires. In fact, they and the financial trillionairs donate to both parties. They get relief as will the NRA because they push the big bucks into politicians via lobbyists.

Impeaching anyone solves nothing. Nothing will change. In fact, let this impeacher take his case to any federal judge to review the facts. He is after publicity and will continue to vocally oppose anything Obama does. Just get used to it.

There is a big difference between the meaning of 'separating the church and state' and the suppression of religions and faiths. There is nothing in our forefathers' thoughts about suppressing religions and faiths. Wouldn't it be nice to have a course on Religions in the K-12 school years? The kids would get a view of the different religions and faiths.

There is nothing wrong with putting God on documents or buildings....the problem is that some churches think their God is better than the other Gods - and wars have been fought over that.

When people now publicly profess to God, they are seen as evangelizing and promoting and trying to convert non-believers to their church, religion or God. And segments of the population oppose it...especially when it is done in a public tax-supported setting.

Keep the practice and worship of religions to yourself. Or set up meetings where you can better explain your beliefs to others that want to know.

Nice pic but I feel the vignette it overdone. You might want to try backing off on it or using a stroke around the edge instead. You might try the stroke in one of the darker colors from the image.

OK, thanks. Appreciate the comment. I'll tweak it again. :-)

Instead of Chesapeake Bay Bridge, isn't that call the 'Lane Bridge'?

Sarge69

The Chesapeake Bay Bridge (commonly known as the Bay Bridge) is a major dual-span bridge in the U.S. state of Maryland. Spanning the Chesapeake Bay, it connects the state's rural Eastern Shore region with the more urban Western Shore. The original span opened in 1952 and, at the time, with a length of 4.3 miles (6.9 km), it was the world's longest continuous over-water steel structure. The parallel span was added in 1973. Officially, the bridge is named the William Preston Lane, Jr. Memorial Bridge after William Preston Lane, Jr. who, as governor of Maryland, initiated its construction.
