thank you for your comments.
It was intentional that the hands had little detail ... they were full of character and must be a portrait in their own right.
By maintaining detail in the hands, this wouldn’t have drawn attention to his face.
I hope this explains my way of thinking.

Thanks Cliff, I think it may be to do with monitor calibration as the lower arm is more visible On mine , but in any case I agree it could be lifted a little further .....
