You have to remember that a newspaper's job is not to report the facts. A newspaper's job is to sell newspapers. Once you understand that, you will see why it's important not to rely on one source.

When I learned to programme, I was told that once you had finished with a variable, you should always free up the RAM it used. Evidently, in the early days, Microsoft never did that. So any RAM that was in use remained unavailable until the computer was rebooted. Although it may be apocryphal we were told that MS DOS would handle 640K of RAM and it was believed that that was more than anyone could ever use. This carried on through earlier versions of Windows that still used DOS under the surface right through to Windows 95. As newer versions of Windows applications were introduced, they were updated rather than re-written and the problem was never resolved. This is where the old joke about the IT tech always saying "Have you tried turning it off and back on again" comes from. These days the problem has been sorted. But it's still a good idea to reboot occasionally to keep up with updates. Also, some online sites such as Facebook that update automatically, don't release RAM until they're closed. You don't have to log out each time, just close the tab they're running in.

1) We had no phone. We had to walk to the nearest phone box down the road.
2) Being friends with your parents was unheard of.
3) May be a difference between US and UK, but TV ended at 10 pm.
4) Skimmed and semi-skimmed milk was only used because it was cheaper. Never as a healthier alternative.
5) Again a difference between US and UK. We didn't have drive-ins. We had to go into town to a cinema. And it was a yearly treat, except the year my parents discovered "The Sound of Music", when they dragged my sister and me to see it every evening during the summer break because it was cheaper than sitters. God, I hate that film.
6) I vaguely remember some news coverage at the time. I've heard more about it in the years since.
7) We had none of those.
8) Goes without saying.
9) None of them.
10) If I had wanted to learn to type, as a boy, I would have had the crap beaten out of me. In later years since learning to programme, it would have been an advantage.

I stopped there because I realised I had no idea what most of the questions were about.

Where is the logic behind the silent K? Someone somewhere must have made that decision.

Watch the TV ads for the equivalent. Foods that are "made from real ingredients" and car dealers who will pay you "UP TO $7,000 more than your car is worth"! Oh - and Panera's "clean food". As opposed to...?

My favourite was for a new cleansing lotion. "Chemical free, in fact, it's 98% water". Two things wrong with that. Firstly, 98% water, is not a particularly good selling point. Secondly, everything, including water, is made up of chemicals.

Trump has played fast and loose with this Foundation for years, I thought Schneiderman froze it at one time. This is all documented so shouldn't be difficult to prove in court. I imagine Trump will settle with some stupid excuse, he said he'd never settle the Trump U. case but he did for 25M.

He's said on Twitter that he won't settle the case. So it must be true.

Einstein was a scientist. What has this got to do with politics?

Seems that evidence is mounting that Cohen is going to flip on the Orange Man.

Cohen was well known as a "mob" lawyer long before he ever met Trump. He was feared and disliked by the people he worked with. You can be pretty sure that he's amassed a lot of dirt on Trump, and I can't see him going down quietly.

You had asked me to define a no go area.... and what it has to do with is the hatred directed towards Trump because he is upsetting the g*******t agenda and so anything he does is met with the upmost resistance from liberals such as yourself, even when he does good things like his last few days in Singapore.

The point is that you brought up the subject of no-go areas. It was totally irrelevant to the subject under discussion. This is a tactic used by a lot of people here, on both sides of the political divide, but it's not one that I would expect from you. Back in the days before the attic, if I made a comment based on my own misunderstanding of the facts, you would point out my mistake and explain where I was going wrong. I would come away from reading your comment better informed. I used to look forward to reading your answers. Now you just scream "liar". I miss the old Blurry. Having said all that: I admit that I don't like Trump and that my judgement of what he does probably reflects that fact. Whether or not what he does will benefit America, in the long run, is too early to tell. But, he has reduced the respect of the office he holds both in the US and the rest of the world. He is a self-promoter and seller of snake oil. Look at Singapore. He's announced that the US will stop all joint manoeuvres with South Korea, and all he's got in return is a vague promise that KJU will think about halting his nuclear production. Yet he's claiming it as a huge success. He's been caught out in so many blatant lies that he cannot be trusted. He will say wh**ever his audience wants to hear and his audience laps it all up. That can only last for so long.

What has that to do with NK?

I may be a little bit over my skies but not by so much, I think that the UK is in a little bit better shape than some other European countries. But, even so it is not in great shape. There are several articles that talk about Muslim communities enforcing their own laws and not reporting crime to the cops so the cops never enter, then we have situations as evidenced in the CBS 60 Minutes video below .

President's can't tear up treaties.... You should study a bit before speaking.

Semantics aside, he has pretty much gone back on the mutual defence treaty between the United States and the Republic of Korea. And according to recent reports, he's not adverse to tearing stuff up.

The US economy is based on two industries. Oil and the military. The military protects the interests of the oil industry and the oil industry keeps the military mobile. Stop the war games, and the whole house of cards collapses.
