Very nice! My first car was a 6 year old 850 Mini and I've been a small car (and manual transmission) fan ever since. One son in law has a Lotus Emira on order BTW. I've wanted a Lotus 7 since before I was old enough to drive, but my legs are too long and my feet are too big.

Lotus is a 'driver's car', and legendary. Always great styling. I was just a teenager when Jim Clark drive Formula 1 Lotus to world champion.

I'd be running out of body parts in five minutes About ten years ago, the college where I taught was having its annual British Car Show. I went and immediately upon perusing all the vehicles waiting to be shot, I could feel my heart beating faster. I kept thinking how great it was that I could go there every year to get pictures of these magnificent beauties, new and old. After a couple hours, I had finished shooting, but the excitement still lingered - until I heard someone on PA system thanking everyone for coming to the last such show that would ever occur there 😲😲😲😲😲
Forty five years ago, my first car was a 1969 Austin America, followed by a '69 Ford Cortina, then a 1976 Triumph TR7, which segued into a '78 TR7
I'd be running out of body parts in five minutes ... (show quote)

Nice to hear, Joe, that there's a place in your heart for our old cars. My dad had a Cortina, but I learned to drive in 1965 in his Morris Oxford. Sometime around 1978 I had use, for a short time, of a TR7 (auto) kinda canary yellow with two black stripes down the middle, front to back ...... think today's term is 'cool' !! Take care, and thanks for your interest !

beautiful cars i especially like the Jag. I had an import here in the US -- right hand drive, left hand gear shifter. You get use to it, the only hard part is passing something that you can't see around on a 2 lane road.

Cheers Poppie ! You didn't buy one of those mentioned by Ken Stern a few posts earlier ?!!

That Jag was made famous in a tv detective series 'Inspector Morse' - great two hour narratives still enjoyed by many on the 'catch up' channels !

I've long driven UK spec cars in Europe - and yep, you get used to it very quickly !

Great series, but not funny looking, some very serious automobiles.

You're right, of course - just English humour in title to maybe attract views ...... !!

Neat looking cars. I've often thought of making a trip to England, but I want to go places the tour groups don't go. But the thought of driving on the wrong side of the road is a bit daunting. I really like the cars in images 1, 4, and 5.

England would love to welcome you ! No need to be part of a tour group if you (and maybe husband, friend) do the right planning - and although we're tiny compared to US, there are plenty places to visit where you can avoid the crowds ! If you're a reasonably accomplished driver you'd be amazed how quickly you can get used to right-hand drive vehicles and driving on the left. A couple of hours with someone beside you and you'll be fine. Certainly don't let that stop you from discovering our lovely country - it's much quicker to get around - distances are minute compared to those you have to put up with - and location variations are endless !

Jaguar , Austin Mini, Trump Tr6, But don't know the other 3

Not sure whether Trump would fit into the Triumph TR6 ! #4 is Aston Martin, #5 is Lotus, #6 is Morgan 3-wheeler

Love the Jag sedan, more than an XKE that's next then a Tvr ( Griffith ). What I have is a MGB (74). Certainly not fast but fun to drive on crooked skinny roads. Great shots.

There was a GT version of yours there that same day - I was just a mite concerned about posting too many in one go ..... !

Thanks for sharing.

Have you ever driven a Morgan? I'd like to, but never had the opportunity. Thanks for the photos.

Hey 'Papa' - 'fraid not ! Zilch experience, of either a 'three wheeler' or more regular 'four wheeler'. But they're legendary vehicles, so if you get a chance ...... take it !!

Magnificent Machines!
Great Shots

However --
The final check guy that assures that the steering wheels are all properly installed must have been sick or @ lunch

There are occasions, Ken, when, despite our common language, our respective humour doesn't quite 'do it' !

But you're quite right - superb engineering, and I can at least compose a reasonable pic and make sure it's in focus !

Bit of Saturday evening fun - many of you enjoy taking pics of cars - some of you might even be familiar with what we in Britain have had to offer over the years - some may have been here and discovered the joys for foreigners, 'steering wheels on the right, manual gearboxes and drive on the left' - here's a few 'Made in Britain' classics I spotted locally in June of this year .....

I spent a weekend in Nottingham in 2007 while there for the British MotoGP at Donington Park. I enjoyed the city, but didn't see either the sheriff or the attractive ladies!

Donnington Park's still active for fans, Bill - and the 'sheriff' has even been known to be a lady of late. As for Robin - he's a pal of mine, so I was able to catch this pic of him ......... !!

Warm and cheerful greetings from a bunch of UK ladies about to serve from their stall at Nottingham's Riverside Festival this weekend. Don't remember if I ever posted anything before to this group - but this is a nice pic - Fuji X-T4, f5.6, 1/160 sec / ISO 400 / Velvia Film simulation / XF 56mm lens.
