composition can mean many things as there are many ideas and even rules for making eye pleasing images

I chose a few images from recent days shootings to point out a few things to look for.

Contrast: could be of colors...texture...old and new
in the first image I used dark and light....

repitition in patterns is comforting: here I used the little bottles......

we talked about the rule of thirds but there is also something about odd numbers of THINGS when we display them....seems they look better than even numbers.

Texture is Leaves, Brick Walls, Paint, Fabric, Rope, Metal, Wood and Stone ect.

I did something different put my textures in a collage to not have to post so many pictures, Nana Slate

I want to start out thanking all of you for your support for continuing the challenge on 2013. You are all so special and whether you make it daily or weekly, please pop in when you can! I am also putting a call out to volunteers. I really love what Rnan did with this. I love learning from each of you… they do say that variety is the spice of life and you all have really spiced it up! I think having different host lends itself to a broader expansion of our photography skills, so if you don’t mind send me a PM and we will put our heads together and take on the world. Whether you would like to take a day, much like we have just done or the first Monday of the month or if you would like to be an emergency contact if someone has an unforeseen emergency that you can punt… every team needs a kicker, let me know what you would like to do. We really are the world taking a look at where we all come from, what an amazing group of people, friends and family you all are! Lastly, unfortunately I cannot remember where I saw it or from whom I saw it but someone mentioned a postcard club which got me to thinking a Christmas/Holiday card club as well. My thought is this… you can PM me your physical address and I will create a pdf. Once I get that by a deadline, let’s say Dec. 11th ( the next time I host) I will send the list out to everyone on the list via email, so I will need your email too and wheter or not you want your email address included on the list. Though we differ in the way we look and things we believe in, there’s something we all share: emotion. Human emotion is innate in all of us; it’s something we’re born with and something we die with. Happiness, sadness, love, hatred, worries, and indifference – these are things that constantly occur in our daily lives. Emotion in photography can be conveyed in many ways. It can be a portrait, it can be a pets face… you know the ones… that commercial for the ASCPA where they try to get you to donate to save abused animals. It can be of a place that you find solace or excitement. It might be the adoration of a pet. What emotion does your photography evoke?
