You may assign the other button for AEL, if your d7200 has the Pv or Fn, that can be assigned for AEL. Check your custom manual setting "f"(control).

Bingo. Custom Settings C3....I hate it when the answer is staring me in the face....RTFM ;) Thanks.

Set it so half press on release is your exposure lock... with BBF (which I use) if it's tracking you may hear the servo. I don't hear it on mine, but then I wasn't listening for it either.

Thanks OnDSnap. That's exactly what I want to do, but I haven't been able find that option on the D7200.

Shooting in manual will get around the AEL problem. Not sure about the motor running...

Yup, I shoot in M quite a bit, but where I miss it, is when I shoot in A or S and want to Spot meter away from the center. Not a big deal, but I miss AEL.

I figured out the servo activating. User error. I had different settings for AF-C and AF-S for the Shutter Release.

I switched my D7200 to Back Button Focusing about 2 months ago and I'm not going back. It seems one of the trade offs is the Auto-Exposure Lock doesn't work with BBF configuration. Is there a work-around?

I also notice in BBF, that when I push the shutter release half way, I hear the servo. The focus plane doesn't change, but I do hear a sound. Is that normal?

TIA,
KC

Never thought of a triple exposure. I had some cotton summer neckties that with patterns similar to your nice results. Good work.

My D7200 has this feature. Kind of fun to play with. They sounds like cool ties.

It sort-of depends on the reason and the "mo-nee" for the size.

Reminds of that cartoon little duck that followed around another cartoon character and always talked with the side of the cheek voice. Anyone remember who he was?

Yakky Doodle and Chopper perhaps?

I'm sorry but the subject is not very sharp or detailed. I see it as a high contrast scene that could stand a little post processing. I own the equipment you reference and it is capable of much better images than the one you posted. Just my 2 cents.

Yes, it is an "ugly duckling" technically. My only reason for posting was because this little critter made me smile. Some get it. Some don't.

Thanks again for your comments.
