Personally, I prefer an *SLR type of camera. The few mirrorless cameras I used had an annoying feature. That is the view finder is not real time, as a *SLR. There is a slight lag between what happens in front of the camera and what is shown to you in the electronic viewfinder. If it's a size issue and you can live with that aspect, the mirrorless is lighter. If weight of the camera isn't an issue, then DSLR route is the way to go. Any of the top names would work quite well for you. You didn't mention what camera you used to have. If you still have lenses for it, they might work well on a DSLR of the same name. Ultimately, the choice is going to be yours and your alone.

When we moved from Indiana to Kansas in 2003, one of the things I had to deal with was an attic full of magazines {I'm surprised the house hadn't collapsed!} - we had lived in that house for 21 years - so one week I put them out for the city's recycling. I'm not sure I have a picture of this, but they made a pile over a foot high and the entire 60' of our property width.

And then it rained ????

Cindy,
Just so you know, MT Shooter is one of our better liked and knowledgeable dealers on this site, If Nikon makes it, he has it.

At the latest Ministry staff meeting, the Martian, while giving full credit to Madame P for her recent success in *ahem* 'acquiring' a submarine and defeating the Nanookian battleships, said it had become clear that naval power alone was a thing of the past. The wave of the future for the Cat Empire and the Ministry of Mayhem lay in air power.

As such, he asked her for her thoughts on stealing an aircraft carrier.

I've never seen an aircraft carrier that could shoot marshmallows.

They are black raspberries, we have them in Indiana where I grew up. The red one will still be so sour, hasn't ripened up yet. Good color on your photo!

Blackberries are green when they're red.

They give us all these tools, and you paid for them, for better pictures, use them, in moderation of course.

So many of the discussions in UHH revolve around Hardware. Also Canon vs, Nikon etc. etc.
My question to you is,
What do you think makes a great photograph.
I am sure your assessment will have nothing to do with Make of camera, lens, aperture or focal length
In the end the power of the image is what is meaningful to you.
So lets hear from Uhh members their take on What makes a great photo.
different strokes for different folks.

Good shot, Frank! Is that a turtle?

Yes, I do believe it's a snapping turtle, a rather large one at that, about 20 inches across.
Makes for a cool picture and interesting if not foolish comments.
Thanks for looking.

Strange creatures from the swamp.
It come slowly up from the depths, looked directly at me, then sank from sight. Is it another invasive species ? I've never seen anything like it before. Do you suppose, maybe, a very young wild swamp Potomus ???
Do not venture into the swamp alone.
