My nephew's first college soccer game is Monday. CANNOT WAIT to see him and take pics of him at this level. He's a keeper, too, so I really appreciate these photos.

Love the baseball shots! Great catches and such cute little guys! As an aside to the "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" line, here's a cute little story. When my son was a baby, his nightly lullaby was played by a stuffed toy baseball. Take..me...out..to...the...ballgame in that tinny, tinkling sound only a child's toy can make. As an adult, he proposed to his future bride at a Rockies-Cardinals baseball game during the seventh inning stretch. (He was born in Missouri; she in Colorado.) He hid the diamond ring in the prize packet of her Cracker Jack box. He wanted her to remember that special moment each time she heard the song. He still has the stuffed toy baseball; it still plays the song; and I have had a wonderful new daughter for the past four years.

Whew! Crazy day yesterday. One nephew was in state soccer cup. One brother had tractor pull. Another nephew played in an all-star basketball game. Slight sunburn but so worth it.

Yep - that was going to hurt.

I got three new pairs of Crocs today. Wonder where they will take me?

Nicely done, your kindness and generosity is appreciated. Can you ask her to model for you again? Have a clothing consultation with her. For outdoor shoots, solid colors work best. I find the white lacy thing a little distracting, along with the writing on the shirt. Sleeveless tops not a good thing either. She has a pretty smile but not necessary in every photo. No. 1 & 2 are my favorite. Again, great job and a wonderful thing you did for her.

Ah, these clothes were her best and her favorites. Didn't have the heart to tell her otherwise. She is from an ultra-ultra-conservative family and the cami under the shirts is a requirement for her, although I agree one without lace would have been better. I have many, many more without the wide smile. She has worn her braces six years (and still no end in site) so they are simply a part of her. :-)

You did well, very well. and I have no doubt she was appreciative.

Since I'm a softy and have compassion for any young person trying hard to better themselves, I gave her the "Almost-A-Niece" price" when she offered to buy my gas and pay for my time. She now has enough to get wallets and prints for her Grandmas and aunts.

Here are some of my shots. I take my nieces and nephews on trips and to special occasions. They know if they make fun of my Crocs, I won't pay. Works every time! I also like Spam, Dukes of Hazzard and Tater Tot Casserole. Pretty sure there is no cure for what all ails me. lol

What a cutie! No makeup. Nothing glamorous or over-the-top. Just clean all-natural very pretty young lady. She's a friend of my niece and worked at a fast food place to save for a senior picture (yes, just one because she thought that was all she could afford). She wanted all outdoor shots and nothing fancy -- she plays basketball and raises cows for her FFA project.

Photobooks! I make photobooks for family. I can put 300 shots in one book. I regularly use three or four companies and wait until there are coupon.

I live in the Ozarks. My family homesteaded here in the mid-1800's and my nephew's family is eighth generation on the same farm. Redneck jokes are usually based on my family members! Anybody up for watching my 89-year-old dad plow his garden with his team of mules? A trip to my brother's lawnmower tractor pull? Deer hunting from an old soda machine converted into a tree stand?

I saved and saved and went to buy a new camera to replace my slowly-dying Nikon D70. I thought I wanted the D90. When I got to the store, my fingers would not wrap around the thicker body of the D90. I have small hands and short fingers. I can type incredibly fast, but apparently my reach is not as long as many photographers because I could not comfortably operate the controls I most often use. I ended up with a Nikon 3200 and LOVE it. I was so worried about being lumped with novices (Nikons with four digits are novices; two digits better; one numeral, pro). Well, I get the shots I want and I can hold the darn thing. Determine which models do what you want them to do and then "try them on for size."

Fun! My niece is in high school band. She is very very short. Almost all of her performance pictures are "Wilson-ish" as she can barely be seen over the top of the music stand.

I once heard a good photograph evokes something -- a memory,a question, a request for more information, etc. Your second one made me immediately think of all the times I was victim to scrapes while climbing over/through barbed wire fences. Nice job.
