They may have just underestimated initial demand. I ordered mine in mid-April and received it in about a week.

We were out a few days ago with my wife's new P900. We got a lot of great shots. I borrowed it to take a "hand held" test shot of another photographer on the boardwalk about 1000 ft away. I was disappointed in the shot until I looked at the green leaves in the background that were sharp and clear, then measured the distance. They were another 200 ft behind him. I should have selected the other guy's camera as the focus point.

1st attempt I missed zero and got PHD
2nd attempt I purposely missed 3 and got PHD
3rd attempt I purposely missed 5 and got PHD

(Yes,I did double check to make sure on a few of the questions that I was only 98% sure of.) I should have kept going to see how many I had to miss before I dropped out of the PHD level.

I tend to agree with ole Sarge, I think they're picking up on something here or just want you to spend a little more time looking at their advertising on the page.

I've been using Prime since they first offered it and have been more than satisfied. Once ordered a printer cartridge on a Saturday night and got it on Monday morning. The $99 membership fee is easily offset by all the services if you use it much. Biggest surprise I've had is how easy the process is if you need to return something.

The Romans already knew way back when that Lions like Christians! 8-)

A few years back, here in Tucson, we thought it may be a good idea to feed the local mountain lions by letting them eat lawyers ..............didn't work too well and they ended up hunting down this one poor lion for eating a lawyer !

Down here in Florida, we're able to stabilize the populations by allowing, even encouraging, them to chase ambulances and car wrecks. The annual road k**l numbers are sufficient to keep their numbers in check.

There were similar findings in Central America with the first domestication of corn indicating a change from hunter-gatherer to urban, agricultural societies that date back to around 9,000 B.C. which would indicate a different but nearly parallel earlier development due small, minute genetic changes in a wild grass.

Got this this morning in the Purple Heart Newsletter ...

Today marks the 42nd anniversary of the official end to the War in Vietnam. With more than 26,000 members of the

Military Order of the Purple Heart who are Vietnam Veterans, it is important that we pay special homage to their service and sacrifice on behalf of this great nation. When we returned from combat, there were no ticker tape parades, no pretty girls to kiss in Times Square, and no clapping as we walked through the airports. In fact, many of us were made to feel ashamed for having served in the military. For this reason, in 2007, both the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Senate passed resolutions proclaiming March 30th as National "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day."

Holy crap! No wonder we always win battles but never make any friends.

Oh well, I'd rather win battles. :-D

The guy was being an ass but I noticed the marine sure took off fast when the guys friend stepped towards him (. (About 52 second mark)

I don't know what video you were watching but it was about the 57 sec. mark when the 'referee' came over to him, probably to raise his hand in victory). I've also see where it's been claimed that the video is a fake but it doesn't really matter, it demonstrates how Marines are trained. They step into a battle, they run towards the sound of gunfire.

I don't know much about Youtube or amateur videos but I do know how Marines react in the heat of battle and it looked pretty true to form to me.

Also, regarding access, I though access had been improved via allowing people to visit private medical facilities when distances and other encumbrances were in play.

That's what I thought too but have been hearing a number of complaints. Hope this particular initiative gets over the rough spots and finally takes off. ...

I tend to agree with the OP's overall sentiment, i.e., the suicide prevention bill 'as well as the increased spending for new facilities' is a good idea, although I think the slant put on by the newsletter "Liberals United" to paint it as a GOP slap at veterans was totally off base.
The link provided by idaholover puts in a much better perspective. The bill enjoyed bipartisan support in Congress but failed in the senate, where even a single senator could block it. In this case it was Senator Tom Coburn, better known as "Dr. No" to his colleagues. So, it wasn't a bill blocked by the will of the GOP, for the most part they supported it and it would have likely passed if not for Sen. Coburn.

To this issue of building new VA health centers and facilities. The battle lines seem to be drawn between those veterans who now have difficulty accessing a nearby center and those who do have access to a nearby center. In terms of the latter (where the do have reasonable access), many if not most, feel that only the VA can provide the specific kind of care that they require.

In my home state of Florida I have seen examples of some of the best VA hospitals in the country as well as some of the worst. There is no doubt that the VA organization and some of its facilities need to be shaken up, and shaken up hard, but still, they are our best hope of providing the very best care for our servicemen and veterans.

(my opinion)

Question? I live in Florida, and with all our pro-gun and stand-your-ground laws it has become much more problematical as to whether I would actually be charged with a crime. Is there some type of provision in Part-G where I could just be tried and sent directly to prison, rather than getting stuck in a "gun rights" doughnut hole.

(P.S. I suppose I could always just strangle the S.O.B.).

I got one of those for my birthday once but it didn't go well with any of my Hawaiian shirts so I just "re-gifted" it to my Uncle George.
