Happy New Year! My wife and I are going to Costa Rica soon for a little over a week. I shoot with a Sony a7RIV and I was thinking about just taking my Tamron 28-200mm. I wanted to get some advice from Hedgehoggers if I would be shortchanging myself with taking only the one lens. I currently own Tamron lenses 17-28mm,28-75mm, 70-300mm along with the 28-200. Our tour will have some time in the Arenal Region, Monteverde, and Guanacaste regions.

Sony has more third party lenses than NIKON Z series. Both are very good cameras but I have used Sony for years and I have a number of Tamron lenses that are great and half the price of Sony lenses. I currently have a Sony a7r IV

I use Tamron lenses for my Sony a7RIV. My walk around lens is the 28-75mm. It's half the cost and half the weight of a comparable Sony lens. I also carry a 17-28mm and 70-300mm Tamron lenses. They are all light and extremely sharp.

Some newer NVIDIA cards don't work with certain features such as NoNoise/Sharpening. ON1 support is working with NVIDIA on solving the issue.

I have the 70-300mm for my Sony a7RIV. I love it because the quality of the photos, the lightness compared to other lenses of similar dimensions, and it costs half of a similar Sony costs. If you are a professional photographer, go for the best. But if you shoot as an enthusiastic, get what suits your needs.

We are looking to do a short trip to Kentucky, during past trips we have been to Louisville, Bowling Green, Clemont. We are looking at Lexington and we are interested in other towns that may be fun to visit and shoot.

It can be used with LR or as a standalone. The standalone product is much cheaper than the plugin. I have been using ON1 for at least 6 years and find it much easier to use than Photoshop. There are a lot of folks on YouTube where you can learn the product such as Scott Davenport, Jim Nix, Free Will Photography (Chris Scott), Hudson Henry, Anthony Morganti to name a few. In addition, ON1 has great videos on its site and YouTube. The 2023 version is expected to be the best product ON1 has produced and may be the best product on the market.

TO ALL

Yesterday, I submitted a request to Admin with a description of the section, and the one or two sentence section subtitle. Waiting for a response.

Thanks, I think this section would be of interest to a lot of UHH members.

Is there any interest in a travel section on UHH? I approached admin some time ago about it but life got in the way. I'd consider rekindling the interest if there was someone who wanted to co-admin the thing.

I envision a section that has tips, where to photography, what to take, etc...

Thoughts?

I think that would be a great idea. We are always trying to figure out where to go next on our vacations so this would be very useful.

We are going on an impromptu trip to Texas. We will be going to Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio and the Foothills. Any recommendation on good photographic areas and things to do?
