Love the bluebirds. My ex's grandfather, William Hoffstot,design the bluebird box that is used today for nesting. I don't know the year. If,anyone wanted one he would send them a box. He was quite a person...invented the, mantel that is used today and sold his company to Mr. Coleman. The name of his company was the Sunshine Lantern Company
This is a male. The females are bigger and green.
It's a tough tree, brought to the Midwest from Russia during the dust bowl . It will dull a chain saw in no time flat....spreading of flat...the thorns on this tree will flatten tires quickly.
Looks Alot like a plant that grows in my garden, only the leaves are arrow shaped.. The berries are poisionous on it. Yours may be a type of spice like the ginger plant...it would be nice to find out what it is. I know England grows the finest Peppercorns the Telecherry pepper.

Wow, those pictures are wonderful, I have never seen these insects. I did see a huge and I mean huge walking stick once. Over 2 feet long. I called the zoo to come and catch it. All they did was laugh...The biggest they get in Kansas is around 6 inches.
