Love Cedar Waxwings. Several years ago when I worked at BSA camp, at the horse barn, we found one just sitting on the ground. We were afraid a horse would stomp it accidentally, so we scooped it up and took it in the barn. He later flew out after resting a bit and sat in the mulberry tree there and ate some berries. Never did figure out what was going on with him, but it was a neat experience. The nature director there and I both thought that maybe he had become overheated as it was over 100F that day and just was stunned from the heat. Gorgeous birds

Thanks :) he's a real sweet cat. I'd like to go get some more of him and his two brothers sometime soon. They are super lazy and easy to sit still for pictures. LOL

So, I like to take pictures of animals. Finally getting around to looking at some pictures I took a few months back and actually forgot about...and then one from today of my dog...Cricket (I stole her name to use on this forum..lol). Cricket is...bouncy, and hard to get a good picture of. She is a Chihuahua/Dachshund cross.

Cricket, the most adorable pooch in the world

Popcorn, boyfriend's parents cat.

Whitetail buck

Yum...pumpkin!

This whitetail got more than just a white tail....

I love her "crazy eye" I got a similar picture from her other side, but it didn't look as neat, as her other eye is plain brown. The blue surrounded by all that black just makes it pop!

As I've been learning to use my new camera, here are some of the pictures I've taken. I posted in my introduction that when I had my laptop, I'd toss a few more up for you to see. Well, today I have the laptop and some free time before work!

Gypsy, my other mare. Was at a distance and the fence was between us, so I snapped it to use on my facebook timeline cover photo

Some cattails at the church camp up in Nipgen. Colors were tweaked a bit, wanted it to match my bedroom better, where I have a print of it hanging

Little mushroom I almost smashed out at Pike Lake, but looked down in time.

Actually took this one this summer, my mom has the same camera that I do, and I wanted to give it a test drive. One of the first pictures I had taken with a DSLR

yup...out at Sugarloaf Theatre just outside of Chillicothe. I've been to it a few times...great show.

I'll see what pictures I have on my desktop here. I'm at my mom's house currently...my ponies live out here and I've been doing some work with them today.

Precious Silk MJE, aka Sadie. Taken with my Point and Shoot camera

One of my cats, Raisin.

I'm about 20-30 minutes from Chillicothe. Since you are from the area--I live outside of Bainbridge, close to Nipgen

Thanks for the warm welcomes :) Seems like quite a few from Ohio! I'm in Ross County myself, but very close to the Pike County border. I went to college in Nelsonville (down near Athens)...gorgeous area.
Bud Casto--sorry, wrong person.

I'll have to get some of my pictures up soon...maybe tonight after work when I have access to them. They are on my laptop, which is currently not with me!

Just stumbled upon this forum and thought I'd give it a shot. My fabulous mother surprised me with a camera this year for Christmas...and I'm loving it! I've always had a point and shoot it seems, and this is my first DSLR. More often than not, I feel like I've just gotten lucky at times--so hoping to become more consistent.

I'm from near a tiny little village in Ohio that most people haven't heard about...but there are some great areas around here to hike and ride. I've got a couple of ponies...so I do a lot of riding. And they double up as subjects for me to snap pictures of.

My boyfriend has also been using my camera in conjunction with his telescope and motorized mount to try to learn a bit about astrophotography.
