No problem with that at all, MT. Go for it.
Thanks Sinatraman and Tom for looking at my photos. The Chinese Junk was indeed unusual so I took advantage of the opportunity to get a shot. The towers are a landmark in the harbor. Used to be more of them. They were for Navy communication but I don't think they are used any longer..
Thanks, JayJay. All the photos were hand held. I hate to lug a tripod on a walk around trip.
Bought my lens at the local Ritz store. Paid 2300.00 Also bought the 2 yr. protection plan for an additional $600. That is probably a waste of money but I am so paranoid about my equipment investment so I did it. They know me at Ritz and are always accomodating when I need them to check or do a quick clean on my camera, so I usually buy from them and I think they give me great service. Their price was the same as B&H.
Thanks, MT. I'll look into that. I really appreciate your expert advice.
Thanks, Mac. I have learned so much since joining the Forum and feeling braver about posting photos. Thanks for taking a look at these.
Thanks, Rich. I am really enjoying the lens. Thanks so much for taking a look at these.
Thanks, MT. I shot in RAW and post processed in Lightroom 3. Also taking the risk to shoot in manual mode, so my first efforts in adjusting the exposure in camera. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks, Mike. You just never know what you might see on a tour boat!
Thanks, William. It does seem to be a great lens. The dome is a focal point on the Annapolis skyline.
Just purchased a new Nikon 70-200mm f2.8 for my D700. Enjoyed my practice shoot around town on a beautiful weekend. Comments and suggestions welcomed.
I did a church directory last year and it was a great experience. The photos were all taken at locations chosen by each family, outdoors and beautiful scenes - some were done in their own yards. I wanted to do this as practice for me. We sold photo packages to generate some funds for the project. I used Creative Memories software to create the pages thus giving it a scrapbook background. All the photos were different due to the varied locations. Some photos included pets, too. This added interest to the book. The church has a business sized color printer so we printed in house and then had them spiral bound at Staples. With over a hundred photo shoots on locations it took a while to complete, but I am quite proud of the finished product. Good luck with your project.
Thanks, Snowbear. I like the "no flash" one as well. Where in MD are you?
