The carpet photos definitely show a 3D effect. Does it look 3D in person?

Very interesting. Great idea to take pictures of individual rocks to capture the detail.

I think all are great photos. Great focus, DOF and lighting. I think a different camera angle on #3 would have improved it a little. I think I would like to see more of the dad than just the top of his head.

He/She probably looks a lot cuter at closing time.

Love your fog picture! We had almost the same condition here last week but instead of fog it was dust blowing and making for a miserable morning.

You are right about the clarity but still nice photos to look at. I know it isn't, but on #1 it looks like a large dog sniffing the the back side of the flowers.

You cropped the arms just above the wrist. To improve the photo you should have either shown the hands or cropped a little higher.

I think you should have reduced the exposure by about a half stop. All the sky in the background caused the automatic exposure to be wrong. Should have zoomed or cropped a little to remove the distraction above the bird. JMO and will watch to see what the experts have to say.

Like 1 and 2 but would also like to see a picture of the full tree. (Depending on background, etc of the full tree.)

Have to agree on the focus issue. I am also not a fan of selective coloring but if it is something you want to do then you need to color the whole subject. In on you left a lot of the flower in B&W and also part of the bird in the second photo. For now, just concentrate on your composition and focus to show immediate improvement in your work.

Another way to remove people from a tourist area is to use a tripod to take multiple pictures and then use Photoshop layers and masks to combine portions of each picture.

Last one is the best. The second picture would be okay except that it looks like she is "floating" in the picture. Need to use a shadow or some other effect to ground her. I am sure she will be very happy with your efforts.
