I use both, without worry... Good to read that others feel the same!
Memory is sooo cheap these days.
Research results:
Orange butterfly is a "Variegated Fritillary".... "Fritillary", what perfect name for a butterfly, don't ya think!!!
(Ok, FLITillary might be better!)
Yellow butterfly is a "Clouded Sulfur"
I'm telling ya, these days we have soooooo much information at our finger tips... LITERALLY!... Great time to be alive!
And thanks everyone for their posts!... I'm really enjoying these eagle nest hikes!
Just so everyone knows, the title is dripping of sarcasm!... Ya know, the "broken wing" ACT!... I've lived in Kansas my whole 62 years and have seen this at least a MILLION times.... The parent bird is perfectly fine...
This morning's eagle photo session was pretty uneventful.... The only adult was perched quite a ways off and left shortly after we arrived.
And while I saw all three, I didn't capture 3 heals on one photo.
But there was some housekeeping going on. One of the eaglets was carrying around a remnant of a past meal.... A TURTLE SHELL... LOL... Moved it to the edge of the nest. Didn't see it toss it over the edge tho.
On the hike out, I encountered a killdeer and it's nest (a different posts in this forum) and some Red-eared Sliders, bubblebee and some unknown butterflies, and a VERY distant (heavily cropped) Lesser Yellowlegs!
So I'll call that a great morning excursion!
Walking back from the eagle's nest, I was suddenly squawked at and flown around several times... Then it landed and did the ol' "broken wing" act.
So I looked around at my feet and about 6 feet away was it's nest with one egg in it.
Interestingly tho, about 2 feet from it was another nest with a large rock in the middle of it.... That got me to wondering if they have "decoy" nests?... Anyone have any ideas?... Or is it just coincidence and actually nothing?
Oh, andbus the red around it's eyes "normal" or is it some kind of breeding plumage?
Thanks in advance for any info!

Great shots.
I have just one small quibble and that is that Dead Horse Point is a Utah State Park and not part of Canyonlands. I camped in Dead Horse Point State Park twice on my visits to the Moab area. I seem to remember that it's about 30 miles from Moab proper.
I also had that pop in my head while reading the post .. Dead Horse is a mere 1500 ft from the NE edge of Canyon lands!
BUT regardless, those are all excellent captures, m43rebel...👍👍
We spent a month in our tiny Class C RV in Utah, hitting the Big 5 Natl Parks and MANY of the State parks... And the State parks are as good as the natl parks...
We covered the SE 1/3, south of I-70 and east of I-15...
As shown in M43Rebels GREAT photos, it's a landscape photographers dream... And if you're in the Milky Way, I got my best photos while boondocking on BLM land outside of Goblin State Park...
AGAIN, thank m43rebel for stirring up those memories.... Now I wanna go back... I'd spend a whole month exploring Canyonlands, Natural Bridges, Arches, Goblin area ... Capture a HUGE variety of landscapes.... LOVE UTAH! 🥰
Very, very nice photo.... Couldn't have planned it better in a studio...
Great natural capture! 👍👍
Thanks tcthome, Earnest, and Joe!
