If the first shot was the best why was there another?

That reminds me of the story of the photographer with the view camera on the beach. He was setting up while the models in bikinis were getting their hair and makeup done. When all was ready, the models got into the water and on signal, they ran toward the beach. The photographer snapped the picture and proceeded to pack up. The art director approached the photographer and quizzed "Only one shot?" The photographer answered "How many are you going to use?"

Thanks Jaymatt. Wish I would have taken more details. I was too excited to think.

Thank you Earnest. Detail shots and setting shots help to tell the story. Comes from years of weddings.

Thanks for your comment Winpilot. I tried to get interior shots, but, glare with the sun was against me. Should have asked for them to open doors. I love to get details.

Thanks Dodie. I hope the weather holds for the yardwork. I am usually finishing it up in a snow storm and then have to switch the lawn tractor from lawn mowing to snowblowing while outside with 2 to 3 inches on the ground.

Thanks Architect1776. This is a rarity for me. Other than the high flying commuter I see at least twice a day, I once saw a Bell land in an open field, perhaps 40 plus years ago. Then there was the Sunday morning a low flying copter was looking for a man who shot one of his son's friends the night before as part of a game. And the one time my very thrifty dad paid for himself, my brothers, mom and myself on a ride around St. Louis around 1963.

Thanks Thorny. Never knew that bikers had an EMS group...or is it an EMS group that rides?

I heard this noise and when I looked out my front window I saw this maybe 600 feet from my front door. It landed in the parking lot/training/Illinois State Testing Site for new motorcyclists at the nearby Harley-Davidson dealer. This was training for people to clear an area for an emergency landing. It sat for over an hour. Lots of photo ops. The group is Illinois EMS RoadDocs. This excitement interrupted my yard work. Now I will have to wait a couple days for nice weather again to finish my yard work.

Just beautiful. Love the framing. Most pics are a closeup of the statue. This shows its location and puts it into perspective. Love it.

But the exif shows (assuming correct) that the images were shot at 3.27 pm?

Why would you wait a year to take a comparison? The light is hardly changes in a few days, surely?

To see that 6PM (ish) during the summer is similar light intensity to 3:30PM (ish) in November. The light intensity at noon on July 1 is a LOT brighter than at 6PM on July 1. Your eyes may not detect this, but, the camera will. Or, get a light meter and measure it at various times of day. Hopefully those numbers will show you what is happening and why sunny 16 does not work 4 months later.
