Yes, they do flitter around a lot! Thanks, I got about a 1.5 second burst before it flitted away - this one was in the middle of that burst - LOL! I do miss the days of composing and creating A photograph. Instead of shooting bursts. But, I don't know how to do it with these guys.

Of course, Frank, the final version is much sharper and less noisier then the original one. My question is: was the picture drastically improved after you applied Sharpen AI, subsequently following application of Megapixel AI? Thank you.
Eugene!

Actually, the Denoise smoothed out the background, and Sharpen AI did a great job on the detail that was still there. The Gigapixel AI was used to up-rez the image for printing. Gigapixel does a nice job smoothing the edges that would stair step other wise.

In these photos shown, not to much loss of detail. I think you'll always get some loss but if it looks better than the noise. Did you try using their masking feature?

Yes, I used the masking feature on my last attempt. I am not sure if I posted here before I used it.

Because the butterf.ly was flitting around, I was attempting to get it in flight. It paused briefly on that and I caught that as an opportunistic shot. Not what I was going for.

Whatever makes better - makes better. The cost is a little time. However, I'm not sure you need to wade through all those processors to get where you did.

Probably not, I did it first with LR, and didn't like the results. I am trying to move to Capture One 21, and so, I could ship the image off to either LR or Topaz or other. (The noise reduction and sharpening in CO didn't handle it either).

So, this one just the best attempt so far. Next up I am going to give DxO a try.

I don't see any way to edit the original and add the source files. So, I tried to add them here, but the after edit is too large (over 50mb). Sorry. Here is the before, converted to a tiff and cropped. so it is only 20mb or so.

Nikon Z7ii - 70-200/F4
ISO 22,800, 1/2000, f8, 200mm

I ran this through Topaz Denoise AI, Gigapixel AI and Sharpen AI.

Here are before and after images, not sure what I think about the result. It is certainly cleaner - but at what cost?

Thank you everyone for the very kind words. I think it should be a touch brighter (online), it is a bit darker than locally.

I really don't think it's a result of your post. I also don't think it's a juvenile because of the beak and the skin on the feet. I truly think that most of us have just not ever seen the skin under the feathers on the head and just didn't dream it might be yellow. Looks like he may have lost some feathers and they are trying to grow back. That's my guess and I'm stickin' to it.

Looks like you are right, here is the shot straight out of the camera (sort of) I develop my RAWs in Capture One 21. This is simply a default auto adjust and exported to JPG, so the yellow is not my fault in this case - LOL... I do see a significant amount of motion blur, which Topaz Sharpen AI took care of in the original post.
