Thanks for the free advice JimH. lol I appreciate yours and everyone else's help. Hope to find a way to do that soon, but till I can I need to find a way to do something to keep my work protected.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Money is a very big concern for me right now and I have way too many pics to do that with all of them, but I would love to have them all protected. I was advised by my former boss to put a c inside a circle on my work and it gives you 3 years to have them copyrighted and he says after 3 years most people aren't gonna want to do anything with them anyway. What do you all think about that advice? He's pretty savy on most things photography as he had his own business for I think around 30 some years before retiring and becoming an instructor where I attend college now.

I designed my own logo for my photos I give or sell to people, but I am getting to wonder if I need to do more than put my logo on them. Do I need to get a photography license to further protect my work from those wishing to use it without my ok? If so, how much does it cost and how do I go about doing so? Please tell me all about this matter. Thanks everyone.

That part of Iowa is really beautiful(Quad cities based on some pics I've seen of it.) I personally haven't been there, but have been around the Cedar Rapids area though. Had some stuff to do out that way and family that used to live there for a while.(Cedar Rapids that is).Thanks for the welcome. I don't know how much of my photos you can see from my avatar photo here, but I took this shot of myself to record my entries and the ribbons I won for them in my county fair here. It was my 1st year ever to try something like this in a county fair and I entered 4 photos and took 3 second place and 1 third place ribbons my 1st time out of the chute!I was floored! I sort of forgot to record the ones I entered the following year yet though.I might still do that just because. I plan on entering a couple others this coming summer in the county fair too and see what they think of some of my black and white.

Hello out there! I'm a photography student at the present time trying to get my name out to people and start my own photography business out of my home. I go by the name shutterbug 305 and originally from the Texas panhandle area. I hope to learn from others here to get the most out of my college training in photography. I am in my early 50's and get plenty of photo ops having a 1 yr old grandbaby around to photograph, which recently landed me a $100 scholarship and the 2nd place in the college's recent photography department 's art show in the catagory of people. A real 1st for me! I look forward to meeting others here and making a few friends while learning more about the exciting world of digital photography.
