I don't see why this is an issue. Two people disagree on how to transact a sale. So don't.

I know on the woodworking forum I belong to it is common to send a personal check. Some sellers wait for the check while others ship as soon as you say check is in the mail.

The best was a $200 check of mine that didn't get cashed. I contacted the seller who told me he didn't want the money. He just wanted the item to go to somebody who wasn't just grabbing a freebie.

Sometimes having faith in our fellow man pays off. Sometimes it doesn't.

I only use paypal - it is bulletproof, and if the seller is lying about the condition or saleability, you have recourse. As a buyer, aside from the misrepresentations that can be made, there is always the issue of legality - how does a buyer know if the item was not stolen?

I will not buy from anyone who insists on any other form of payment - there are too many opportunities for fraud and deception on both sides. They are easy for a buyer to fake, and it is just as easy to receive a money order and not ship goods - and there is no recourse in either situation.

Republicans used to champion the rugged individual by limiting government interference. Microsoft started in 75, Gerald Ford. The owner of Home Depot said he would never had been able to create the company if Obama policies were in place. Big corporations gaining leverage in politics is the result of the lobbying industry. Trump would like to end those shenanigans.

Totally agree. I mentioned Paypal to him but he has never used it, he says. Maybe he needs to get someone to set up a Paypal account and show him how to use it. I learned along time ago that you NEVER prepay by money order or any other instrument to a perfect stranger and some of my relatives are questionable also. Very risky! I really don't fault him for not agreeing to send me the item first. Just making the point that trust is a two way street. I did find where he had the same equipment for sale some time back but took it off the market. If I were a gambling man I would wager he would have a hard time selling anything with that money order string attached.
