bcheary,

Thank you for your welcome. Fortunately, I'm retired and live in a very scenic area so I have a lot of time to enjoy my photography here in North Idaho.

Creativ Simon,

Thank for your welcome. I will try to do my best with what little knowledge I have concerning photography and try to show you some of my better photos.

Rich2236,

Thank you for your welcome. Your Worldwide photos are great and consist of a great variety of subjects and are all professionally executed with style and substance.
I have only been to Canada a couple of times, so my travels are extremely limited.

Thank you. One question leads to another which makes for a more intelligent and a more informed person.

Thank you. Again, I'm lucky to live in this beautiful area and be able to photograph the great Bald Eagles.
I don't have expensive camera equipment (retired and on a budget) such as the $5,000 to $20,000 Canon super telephoto lenses.
I now have the Sigma 50-500mm zoom lens which cost me about $1,500 (new) which is connected to my fairly new Canon 6D full frame camera which produces some great quality photos. I'm still trying to pay them off.
Anyway, the advantage I have over some photographers with the more expensive telephoto lenses is that they, most of the time, have to put their large and heavy lenses on a sturdy tripod waiting for the right shot while I get closer with my hand-held 50-500mm lens which has a built-in stabilizer which gives me a steady shot. So, I can cover more ground and get more photos.

Thank you. Yes, life is short. Winter is around the corner. I am looking forward to December when the Bald Eagles arrive for feasting on the spawning Salmon from Thanksgiving to early January on Lake Coeur d' Alene, North Idaho. In December there are as many as 200 Bald Eagles seen on the north-eastern part of the 25 mile long lake. Professional photographers from hundreds of miles away come to photograph these magnificent Bald Eagles.

Thank you. I'm very fortunate to live in beautiful North Idaho where the scenery and wildlife are abundant and this leads to some good photos.

Thank you. Whether you are using my Canon 6D full frame camera or any other comparable camera, you want to practice and practice using your different camera settings and take as many photos as possible so that at least one of them will turn out OK.
I have seen some amazing great photos taken with $500-$1000 cameras because these people knew their cameras inside and out.

I like the Sigma 50-500mm the best. This lens offers excellent detail in a slightly more compact package vs. the Sigma 150-500mm and has a great Macro effect. With my Canon 6D, I can focus down to 15-16 inches again with excellent detail.
Using the 50mm to 500mm encompasses a wide range of shooting plus with the Macro portion, you have it all so you don't need to change lenses. The optical quality is about the same as the Sigma 150-500mm. This 50-500mm lens is only about 2-3 ounces heavier and is about $500 more expensive.
You have to decide if the $500 additional cost is worth it and I think it is. Below photo of the Bee was taken with the Sigma 50-500mm macro setting @ 15" from the Bee.

My name is Regis Tolbert. I am retired and my hobby is photography and sometimes I make a few dollars with my photos. But, I just love taking photos for myself including
all kinds of wildlife, landscapes, macro photography of plants and insects plus portraits.
I use a Canon 6D with Sigma 50-500mm, Sigma 150-500mm, Tamron 28-300mm, Canon 75-300mm, Tamron 90mm Macro, Tamron 180mm Macro, and a Canon 28-135mm lens.
I went to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for Photography, Commercial Art, Fine Art, etc. and received a 2 year Certificate. However, I never used my photography skills professionally, only as a hobby.
