I popped out my hernia laughing! Your jokes are hazardous to my health-
One of the reasons I am a loyal Pentax user is because, to the best of my knowledge, they are the first major camera manufacturer to ever offer and upgrade to their flagship camera when a new model comes out. This is a major advancement when a user has just purchased a model that has been upgraded.
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.
I have a Pentax K-1 and am considering sending it for the $ 550 upgrade to the K-1ii. Pentax has established Precision as the ONLY shop in the US where this work can be performed. Their online reviews are poor, and they are known for slow service. I learned that each country has only one place authorized by Pentax for the upgrade which involves installing a new motherboard.I contacted Sun Camera in Canada, which has excellent online reviews. They tell me they are only allowed to do the change from Canadian owners!
So, being the devious person I am, I'll ship my camera to a trusted friend in Toronto who will take it to them then mail it back to me. Yeah, more expensive I know. But I am willing to pay to have it done correctly and rapidly.
There are several fine camera repair facilities in America, and why Precision was given exclusive rights is beyond me.
Bfooked them before they bhoocked you!
I will take them as I have 3 Pentax cameras that use them. I can send you a postal money order. Let me know your particulars. My email is : ellischarlie 1943@gmail. I go by the moniker, bedouin, on the Hog. Thanks
I will buy it. I have no PayPal account but could wire you money either to your bank account or via Western Union. Or mail you a Cashiers Check. Let me know your preference. Email is : ellischarlie1943@gmail.
I agree with you Alabama. 7 years ago I bought and used LR. My objection to it was the multitude of icons and symbols. Even bought myself an expensive book to guide me. After 3 months, I gave up. My present program uses few symbols but lots of word descriptions which I find speeds my editing time.
It boils down to what someone is comfortable with. My gripe is with Abobe, not their products. Why if the Iranians come up with a better mousetrap, I'll buy it!
I'm just a Texas country boy who needed 3 years to pass the 4th grade but I did learn somethin' about writin'.
You understate the Adobe website. It is impossible to speak with a person there. They do not want to hear from you. Oh, but they kindly direct you to one of their forums. I got the (allegedly) last LR 6 disc Amazon had. It was purchased to take to a photographer friend in the Philippines. Since we visit occasionally, I installed it on my laptop. Took it over there but Adobe said, as we tried to install it on his computer, Can only be installed in the US. That upset me considerably. I hauled his laptop back here, installed LR, and mailed the computer back. ( I am aware of the huge problem in Asia of pirated copies of US programs)
Still, it would have been cheaper to buy an Adobe disc there than it was for me to mail back the computer. Problem was, all the ones sold there were also pirated!
Besides, I greatly enjoyed screwing Adobe back for not allowing folks to contact them. I deleted the program from my computer. My editing program will do anything LR can and has a tech support division open 24/7. And I got a disc for only $10 extra. And they have their own Cloud too- free.
I have this lens. I shoot Pentax which has IS built into the camera. A tip for those who use cameras with this feature- turn off the in camera IS if using the Sigma IS. Your images will be sharper. The 2 conflict.
I photo a lot in the desert southwest where the light is harsh. There are anti-glare screen protecters available but they do not help much. I wonder why LCD screens could not be made like that found on a Kindle Reader which is easily readable in any light condition?
Makes one appreciate that pigs and cows don't fly.
And all us Yanks hope your wife gets well soon and you have many more happy years together.
I agree with John. I shoot Pentax and have many older FA lenses. I have run tests comparing them to identical newer DFAs that I have. In almost every case the older lenses are just as sharp and give equal colors. I will never part with them and their cost is a fraction of the newer ones.
I do not own one but have a close friend who does. It is an apsc camer, is quite light weight, and takes excellent photos. It comes with a nice price and uses virtually any Canon lens including even some of the older film era AF lenses.
It lacks the bells and whistles of more advanced Canons but I see no major fault with it. ( FYI, I use Pentax cameras)
