I am more than happy with my P900. The sensitivity and sharpness of the lens is very good for such a long zoom. It is a great all-purpose camera and will get you good photos at the long end of the lens that you would not normally get. Your kite photos are very good and you should be happy with your camera. My other camera is a Canon 70D with a variety of lenses but I find that I am walking around with the Nikon P900 most of the time.

jsktb - thanks for responding. I have only shot on Auto - yes I am a beginner to serious photography and have not yet attempted to shoot on manual.

I have posted a few shots taken with my p900 which I have had for just over a month. I know that there are one or two others on this site which have recently acquired the P900 as well I was just wondering what their opinion/experience of this camera is or is it a bit soon??

Your Robins are much smaller and prettier than our ones. Beautiful shots.

Lorima - You say our Robins are pretty -well they are but you American Robins are also very pretty - not quite as dainty that is because they are not true robins and actually are members of the thrush family see (Turdus migratorius) Like our English blackbird is also a member go thrush family. But all make for good captures !

Nope, top one is a Great-tailed Grackle. Notice the color of its eyes. West of the Mississippi they are brown in Boat-tails.

Aah - thanks for the correction - will have to revise my Texas life list by one at least - pretty sure I got the rest correct though - smiles

Shot this one of a Grackle at the convention centre on South Padre Island -texas two years ago whilst on a birding trip. I was using a Panasonic FZ8 most of the pics I took were very dissapointing but one or two were OK. The follwing picture is of a load of Yellow headed blackbirds. The last one is of a cowbird.
