When I introduced myself, I dropped the ball in attaching a pic of my avatar, so here it is. "Fred & Ethel; American Gothic" from the "Ribbit" collection at the Morton Arboretum summer of 2016.

The following pics are in response to a topic here a short time ago when someone asked..."What do you do with the photos you take?" This is what I have done....covered the walls in the room where I edit and post process my shots. I take my favorite shots, have them mounted on gator board or .08" styrene so I can mount them frameless, and mount them in such a way as I can mix and match because all the prints are mounted with mirror hangers I get at Home Depot. Framing, for my purpose(s), costs too much, weighs too much, takes up too much space and will not allow me to mix and match and change when I want to make changes. There are two size prints here....12" X 18" and 16" X 24"....the smaller are on .08" styrene, the larger on gator board. Some prints are on metallic stock. The border across the top of the main wall is a sequence of six images of one sneaker wave shot along the Oregon coast. The larger prints include Mt Rainier Natl Pk, Mount St Helens Natl Volcanic Monument, the San Francisco Peaks north of Flagstaff, AZ, a 2-6-6-2 steam locomotive in Flagstaff, and three shots taken from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon including one shot of "mares tails" a specific cloud formation in that region. I did no editing of these shots; they are for demonstration purposes only.

Took these two shots late summer 2016 when the Tall Ships were at Navy Pier in downtown Chicago. No tripod for these shots.

One of those times when I had my Nikkor Micro 55mm f/2.8 on my D7100.....this time at CBG...Chicago Botanic Gardens. The one shot I titled "EYE TEST", it's the lattice work on back side walkway of the rose garden. The water lilies, the pads look like they are metallic in the monochrome version, and every light point reflection on the water is a fourteen point star.

FlyGuy47...not because I am a pilot, but because I teach fly fishing and fly casting at a major outdoor retailer. "Fly Guy" is my call sign there. My avatar....."Fred & Ethel, American Gothic"....from the "Ribbit Exhibit" at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL summer 2016. My mantra....."HAVE NIKON; WILL TRAVEL". When I get "bored", I will mount my old Nikkor Micro 55mm f/2.8 from film days onto my D7100, switch to monochrome, and go hunting for photo ops. When it looks right to me in monochrome, I probably nailed the composition and mood of the shot. I shoot for myself and for an old friend who cannot tag along every time. If it were not for that friend, I probably would never have gone to OR and WA and experienced what the Pac NW has to offer!
