Thanks Tim. I'll take a look and bookmark it. You are right about some getting too intense, and far too many making critical comparisons between cameras/lenses in very different price ranges. I just ignore most of that stuff. :-) I like your signature quote - been there done that, huh, still doing it. :-) Flip
Most UHH folks probably know the http://www.dpreview.com/ website. I'm very new here, but just wanted to say that dpreview's excellent camera/lens/etc. review and comparison features were wonderful in helping me find a camera and lens that fit my needs and budget.
Thanks LittleJon. Hope your move back to So. Calif. goes well. That will be quite a change in climate. I've enjoyed your photos. I hope to get into some of that HDR work also.
Oh sure. Pass anything on if you like. :-)
Thank you Lois. I'm enjoying your photos from your "very big neighborhood in rural Iowa." :-) As others here have said, that's a great signature quote you have. Another I like is "Think outside. No box required." Have a great day! Flip
Have been following all your postings for a short while. Just getting into the DSLR world. Enjoying the shared knowledge, experiences, and photos of all you photographers, amateur and professional alike, very much. Thank you for sharing, I'm learning a lot.
Both major parties are taking us down in this plutocracy we live in. Choosing either one is simply a matter of personal choice that does not really have any effect on the plutocracy. IMHO
In modern times, the term "plutocracy" is sometimes used pejoratively to refer to societies rooted in state-corporate capitalism or which prioritize the accumulation of wealth over other interests. According to Kevin Phillips, author and political strategist to U.S. President Richard Nixon, the United States is a plutocracy in which there is a "fusion of money and government." This is nothing new, it is just getting worse. A similar position was taken by the Fourth International in January 1941, which stated "the twin capitalist parties control all the main avenues for reaching the masses (the press, radio, halls, etcetera... they collect millions from their wealthy masters and spend them to bamboozle the public and buy elections."
