I use a Nikon D200. > 10 years old. Works fine
I am a competent amateur. Shoot for fun. Display photos on an 8 X 10 digital picture frame in my office for folks to look at (MD office)
Any prints I make anymore (rare) are 8X10 or less
No sports
No video
Do some pics of grandchild but mainly I do photo on travels (go to the UK for family), flowers, landscape, architecture, some macro work
Does spending up to $2000.00 (or less) for a new camera get me anything for what I do?
My sense is that this is money not well.
Thanks
Last question
All the other programs on the C drive such as Word, Corel PSP, Quicken On1 that are currently installed- etc: They will work without having to reinstall them if a new SSD is made into the C drive and current C drive (Hard disk) is "moved" with a clone/migration program??
It seems to me that the major speed improvements I would have are at boot pc time, load photo edit software and load a photo.
The first two are done sparingly, the latter frequently when editing photos. So currently used photos ought to be on ssd.
All my photos are on three drives, two them off site
Any one have specific drives to suggest that are "reasonably" priced? Probably 500 is as big as I will go.
Thanks
1) Does cloning deal with all the licensing and install issues: ie just clone to new drive, relabel drives, etc? Windows/ Dell (the PC manufacturer) software don't complain, cause issues? I dont want to get into reinstalling everything
2) Must a cloned drive be as large as the initial C drive (1 TB) - C drive only half full currently?
3)If all above non issues, please suggest reliable Cloning sodftware, ideally free
Thanks
I am thinking about getting a solid state drive, mainly for data. This would be mainly photos (but some other files also). Reason to do this is to speed up my photo processing. I use Corel PaintShop Pro and On1. Amateur only. 170 GB of photos so far
I don't have time to deal with all the intricacies/heartache/gotchas of trying to get Windows 10 on an SSD.
1) Is a SSD for data likely to be a problem/mistake as apparently these drives have limited write cycles?
2) Is this likely to improve performance substantially?
3) What else should I consider, ask, be aware of?
Thanks
Happy New Year.
