Go to Facebook-"how. To g et a black background". It has to do with your spot metering and existing background. It is simpl e to recreate after watching the video of the English dude taking flower pix. Good luck!

Thanks-it is going to be expanded in the near future. There was a nursery adjacent to it that went out of business and the township purchased it. Should be very nice.As a footnote I shoot Nikon D7000 and everything I post will be straight from the camera. I don't believe in messing with my images. It's all me not software.

Wahawk-I thought I posted a big thank you here.I must have messed up anyhow thank you. This is a small park but the township keeps it in beautiful condition. A lot of newleyweds have their wedding pics taken here. I'll post a few more of the park for you to see.

I think you needed a wider aperture in #1 to throw th e background more out of focus. That would put more emphasis on the bird. #2 is nice except the left eye(looking at the pic) is hardly visible. When you think of owls you think of eyes-have no clue as to what could have been here. #3 nice shot! All in all very nice!
