Wow, wonderfully detailed close-ups Paul and enjoyed the narrative. Their size on my monitor gave them added impact. Does your hornbill have something metal in his eye? Bev
I'm a dog lover and your images made me laugh. You must have had a good time with that project.
Thanks for showing these, I loved #4. Bev
Thank you photophile, appreciate your checking out the otter. Bev
Thought I'd try again since you were so patient with me on the Sweden image with the red buildings. Crop decision was a little difficult as I like the little stream on the left, but felt it drew the eye away from the train/smoke trail a little too much and I loved the smoke. Couldn't think of anything other than painting down the upper left corner and removing noise with the crop I chose. If I'd had more of the pine trees, might have tried cloning in pine trees. I use Photoshop and many layers. Bev
Enjoyed the impact of your inner beauty graphics. Bev
I enjoyed your images and thank you for your workflow instructions. I too often enjoy a softer look to certain images. Bev
Very interesting image. I like your background texture effect simulating the elephant skin. Bev
I enjoyed your image, I like the subtle textures and color. Bev
Really caught my interest. Bev
Wonderful series Dave. Glad they are protected now in Az.
He really put on a show for me Sue, thanks for checking him out. Hope to photograph him again when his mate arrives. Bev
Thanks so much for checking him out. Bev

David, Thanks for bringing up this subject, showing your images, and telling your story. I don’t think you’re being foolish in producing something which starts as photography yet takes that additional step to become a piece of art. I think these pieces are wonderful examples of your interpretation of the subjects. I’m with you in not having any formal training in art basics, I just know what I like, what I don’t, and those pieces which keep me thinking. I tried some experimenting with my “normal” photographs starting with a plug-in called Fractaliius from Redfield, then added Topaz. Not showing much, but having fun and so maybe soon………….. Bev
