The hall of parliment in Bucharest is the only place in the world I have run into this. Simple fact.

Well, add the castle in Prague to your list. To take pictures indoors in any of the buildings I had to have a photography permit. The cost was nominal.

Here is the one I mentioned. I hope you have better weather. This was in January, IIRC.

I just wonder which direction water goes when you flush.

Down the toilet, just like here. :-)

I really like the Aussies

Having been there a few times over the years, all I can say is that if the world got along like Americans and Australians, the world would be one big party. I love it there.

Fair warning, if you drink iced tea. Refills are free in the US. They are NOT in Australia. :-)

Oh, and the Australians are well aware that some people from elsewhere forget to drive on the left. Hence the signs along the Great Ocean Road.

One of my favorite pictures is one I took in early 2007. My Sony A100 was brand new (so new that the Sony reps in the standards meeting I was attending hadn't seen it yet) and I was playing with it to see what 10.1 Mpixels and a long lens could to. Standing on the Place de la Concorde I put the 55-300 mm lens on, zoomed to 300 mm and took a picture of the Arc d' Triumph (sp?) looking down the Champs Elisee (sp?). Turned out great. By zooming in with the digital zoom on the computer you can see the individual bars on the anti-jumper fence around the top of the tower. Zoom further in and you can see individual antenna elements on La Defense, another couple miles behind the Arc. See what you can do.

Also, a hike to the ridge of Kamiak Butte is worthwhile. Good view back towards Pullman.

A walk around the WSU campus will reward you with plenty of excellent photo opportunities, as well.

Make sure you have plenty of memory for your camera, the Palouse country is full of excellent photo ops.

Yeah, I grew up there. :-)
