In 1912 Union Pacific replaced the original Steel Bridge at the cost of 1.2 million dollars with this bridge. Today's replacement cost would be in the neighborhood of 47 million dollars. This bridge is the only known double life bridge in the world. Lower deck is for train traffic. the upper deck is for cars, pedestrian and light rail. The bridge crosses the Willamette River which connects east and west Portland.
It is superb. One of the proposed cut back items is to cut out fly by's. I am bummed out.
Yes, as of April 1st The Blue Angels will cancel a number of their shows due to budget cuts. They were scheduled to perform here outside of PDX this coming summer. They are a huge draw. By them not being here will hurt the gate. What a shame.
Please do not tell me that you are a Whiner Schrub fan.
No...can't stand the guy. Or his brother for that matter. It must have been that Las Vegas water they drank while growing up. I like the old guys like Mark Martin, Smoke and even jumped on the Jr. bandwagon the past couple of years. It just happened that his pit was in front of us.
Thank God!
I am a Team Hendrick fan. I was hoping that the two idiots banging each other on last lap (11 & 22), would take out Whiner as well. but he shot right on by.

Lagano (22) said he was going to go talk to Smoke after the race. I think he should stay as far away from him as possible. Stewart in a interview after the race basically said he wanted to tear Joey Boy a new one. Love it!

Daytona International Speedway...This was the Coke 400. My wife and I were two of 165,000 fans. If this doesn't get your heart pumping I don't know what will.
would you share some of your camera settings for the first couple of photos. I would appreciate it, still a beginner here, thanks so much.

Hi, Taking photographs inside museums can be a challenge. Due to extreme lighting changes. These are the settings I used for the the glass boat and Space Needle. Look at the extreme changes in settings. It definitely is not a one size fits all. I like you am relatively new to photography. I just practice and take lots of notes. With these I took what I thought would be a average stetting and adjusted accordingly. I think I took six pictures of the boat before I got one I liked. This also may sound a little crazy but I seem to take better pictures when I am by myself. I don't feel as rushed and can take my time. Good luck.

I agree about taking time alone! My husband always is asking another one?? Let's go! I need to take time to think about what I just shot and why it turned out however it did. I tried some photos at the museum of glass and was really unhappy with them. That is why I asked as a starting point a little more successful than mine. I am rereading Bryan Peterson's exposure book!! Thank you

I am a rookie. Just received the camera (as a retirement gift... a Canon 6d) the first part of this year. It is enough to figure all of the bells and whistle on the camera let alone Photoshop. One step at a time. I do appreciate your help though. I feel like I'm back in school. That was a life time ago.
